Guys! People are writing my dad hate mail for what he said about Jerry in the paper the other day! This is exciting!

The problem at LU
I almost laughed out loud when I read Jerry Falwell’s assessment about why Liberty University sports are currently suffering from low attendance. Mr. Falwell should know that it’s not that “people don’t come to games to see their team play, they come to see them win.” I’ve attended many sporting events where the team I was backing lost and I still support them.
The reason Mr. Falwell’s university doesn’t receive the community support he’d like is because he hates half the community.
Why? Because we’re Democrats or liberals or pro-choice or gay or peace activists or Christian - but not Christian enough.
Remember the post 9/11 comments or the pre-Iraq war comments or the E.C. Glass High School “Gates of Hell” comments or the “God hater” comments or the murderer comments.
Maybe making people not feel welcome at his university unless he can get his hand in their pocket is not his best community relations plan. Maybe his narrow, dishonest, hateful and bigoted approach to the community is the problem.
I know, I know, he is being persecuted ... again.
