Keats used to dress up in his finest, comb his hair and retie his shoes, as if getting ready for a night out. He would then walk to the door, open it, and then sprint back to his desk and begin writing. All to get a jump on his muse.
An eccentric ecologist used to make collages out of found things, most often out of papers from his wife’s waste basket. The trick was to take things that he’d never seen before and that by themselves had no significant meaning, and make a meaningful piece of art out of them. His name was Kootch Fritters (haha I don’t know how to spell his name but that’s what it sounds like). Sounds like fun, Im going to try it soon. Only I’ll have to raid Shurie’s trash!
Cool site with much old art:
http://collage.cityoflondon.gov.uk/ A heated “debate” about Iraq:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/news/iraq_debate.shtmlIf someone stumbles upon this and listens to it tell me what you think. I herd it this morning and the amount of applause, on both sides, was disheartening.
“Keep your eyes open. Keep your ears open. Keep some time to yourself, some thinking time. Have the courage to take your mind in directions that it hasn’t been in before. Read. Read and travel. Listen to people on the bus, listen to people on the subway. Join in life, but look at it from an angle. Realize that you are the only person that is you. And that what youre hearing and seeing, from the most exulted philosophical speculation that you might have about it down to the actual colors are unique to you.”
Ive been drinking a lot of H20 the past month. 4 to 8 17oz. bottles a day. I now crave water. I swear to god i think im addicted to water. On a side note i havent noticed any health benefits to this habit =[. When I started a month ago i figured i would be superman in a week or so, but nothing. This I what happens when your boss buys a SWEET new water cooler at work and puts it right next to you.
