I've been reading a lot lately. Decent way to pass the time.
Spoilers for Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen, by Tamora Pierce
I ended up loving Aly. When I first started reading, I just... missed Alanna, and Kel, and knights, honestly, but I did end up loving her. Even if there's not enough George for my taste, considering she's his daughter, heh. And even if the fact that she ends up having babies with a crow FREAKS ME OUT.
Dude, in the end when she's Dove's spymaster... what would she do if the Isles and Tortall ever went to war? Srsly, that would be bad. heh.
Also, though, it amuses me that she and George are basically pitted against each other. ::dies:: The end, when he's all amused by her telling him to get his people out? SO FUNNY. Oh, George.
And, a couple of quotes I have to have here:
As she had observed in the case of her parents, it was hard for a man to silence a too-frank wife when she spoke in front of company. Da was usually amused, but then, the pricklier her mother, the happier her father. Aly had never understood it.
Heeeeeeeeeehehehehe. Oh, George and Alanna. SO MUCH FREAKING LOVE.
Actually, speaking of George and Alanna... another good thing about the Aly books! No Jon! WOOHOO. Of course I love Thayet, but it's acceptable not to have her when it means I also don't have Jon. Heh.
And the other quote I wanted here:
"Your Majesty, he lies," Aly said, shaking her head with regret. "He lies all the time. I think sometimes he lies just to stay in practice."
HAHAHA omg. You guys have NO IDEA how much I cracked up when I read that. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Oh, George. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
