Okay, so. CFUW 116 was my first time running a game like that, and attempting to have some sort of cohesive plot, so... Feedback on that? It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
This isn't against you, but rather to everyone who has been involved in CFUW plots lately. . . And the fact is that they really don't belong in CFUW. I first took note when Zazzle decided to do the first demon game, because the wolves dominated that game because no one had the ability to actually play the game. It seems to keep happening again and again, and I would prefer it not to happen. We have au_die, so that plots like this and so on can take place without having to have the unnecessary element of ousting. I even ran a plot myself where I mimicked CFUW, but I didn't include it in the comm, because I knew I had no plan for the game to be an integral part of it. Funnily enough, the people playing instinctively went against ever following the format that the game was based on!
As a plot, I want to applaud you for going out on a limb and trying something! I know how rough it is to moderate something like this and run through blind. To be fair, I didn't do much with it, because I don't seem to find them appealing unless I'm in charge of it. There's also a problem with just exploring and more exploring which hit me during my first plot, and I tried to rectify in my second plot with little to no avail. (I think I lost steam on it, so I really can't blame you for taking a break with the game as you did.) The only real critique that I would offer is to definitely see about getting someone to help you out. I never walk into a plot without someone to sit and talk with at the minimum, so I can have someone relaying feedback and helping me up the ante.
Yeah, the plot thing only works if it surrounds the cfuw element-- which... this one sort of didn't. And I'll keep that in mind if I do this again. But I also liked the nature of exploring? But I also tend to favor darker CFUW games, too. The lighter ones don't usually keep my interest, for one reason or another.
And yeah, next time I do this, I am definitely getting someone to help.
Well, you're someone who has played in kill games past, while I've thrown Akito into games with singing robots. Each person has their own flavor which is the beauty of being able to pick and choose which game you sign up for. My only concern is that lately the games have been built up so much that it might be intimidating for someone who has an idea for a game to go through with it because so much razzle dazzle has been added to something. People don't tend to have confidence when they walk into things, so I would like to make it easier for anyone to pick up the reigns and try their hand at the game without worrying of it being too simple. Again, this isn't directed at you alone, but this is a general trend that I've seen which should be noted.
As for the exploring, it seems like everyone else enjoyed it, so that's all that really matters! I'm just speaking on my past experience and what I took away from the game. Frankly, I don't like putting warnings on what I'm doing for fear of giving anything away, but if you had put out the PSA that dungeon crawling was going to be an integral part then you wouldn't have had as many people hanging back. . . Which I imagined caused you stress as a shepherd and moderator as you want everyone to be involved and having fun and enjoying this game that you put effort into!
And I am more than willing to help you out next time. ♥
And, since I think it needs to be said, we are completely cool over that slight goof with the first clue and safe sheep. It's a game, and it was a mistake. You were taking care of so much else that it's understandable that you lose track of something in the process.

And thank you, really. I felt really bad, when I'd realized what I'd done, and how unfair that was to you.
