Hi Hi Hi!

I'm currently in veg mode after a 50-hour workweek, trying to coax my body toward my piano but lacking in creative ambition--or ANY ambition for that matter. Nah, it's really not that bad, but you know how us journalists sensationalize everything. ;) It was a long week, indeed, of hustle, bustle and photography. Nine shoots to be exact. But it's hard to hold grudges when I leave with a free supper every night! You see, we photograph a lot of food. And that food either goes home with the employees or gets thrown away. On the free menu this week? Brats, marinated chicken breasts, coleslaw, cake!, fresh strawberries and pineapple, popovers, ice cream, French bread, and more. It's perfect for newlyweds with few dollars to spend.

My daily struggle seems to be having too many aspirations and not enough time (as I sit here blogging, hah!). So many things I want to try and improve upon ... but it seems I don't get home before it's time to have dinner, wash dishes and get enough sleep for the next day. But enough whining already!

God's word inspires me lately, in ways I never thought possible. I went through a Bible study called the Truth project, basically outlining why/how God is truth. There are lots of implications ... but lately I've just been fixated on how God--who is all knowledge and truth in thee universe--reveals His very words and truths to us. Wow. It is WAY to easy to take that for granted. Selah. Anyway, here's my favorite this week:

"Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future." -Prov. 31:25

This descriptor of a Godly wife is sooo encouraging to me. Know why? Because I've also studied lately that "Yet those who wait on the Lord will gain new strength." (Isaiah 40:31) Also, because I have a tendency lately to NOT smile at the future, but to almost dread it. As in, ugghhhhgh I don't want to work for another weeeek. So the lessons here? Wait on God and get excited about life.

Speaking of work, I studied lately about how work is such a blessing (not to be dreaded), because we are created in God's likeness TO work. As a Christian scholar once put it, we should view work as children view a sandbox, and thank God for the chance to create and work with all this wonderful stuff he gave us! It's fun and childlike. And I'm all about childlike.

Oi, this could take a while if I keep ranting tangentially. Better call it a night. Love you all!
