Something tells me that these next 2.5 weeks are going to be the slowest and fastest weeks, probably ever. (Ahem, the wedding is 2 weeks from Saturday.) By day, and when I'm not working or rocking, I constantly run errands and make phone calls. And by night, I typically stay up until 1:00 a.m. tying bows on little bubble containers or writing thank-yous while watching reruns of America's Next Top Model (guilty pleasure ... lay off). It's a funny little life I lead, for these last couple weeks at least. Wedding planning, I've found, has a tendency to snowball more exponentially than anything else. I was going to keep it way simple, but things just keep compounding. Eh, oh well. (Oh, and if you're reading this wondering why you weren't invited ... don't take it personally. We had to cut many many family and friends because of our small reception venue capacity. And by reception venue, I mean fellowship hall, lol.)
The insanity is most notably highlighted by my journey eastward, to visit Jennae, try on my lovely lovely gown being made by Jennae, and enjoy NYC altogether. Being as though Beau is deathly afraid of flying, I might not make it back.
I didn't "get" weddings until I actually sat down to plan mine. I remember last summer thinking weddings just looked like a bunch of kids playing dress-up. Our pre-marital counseling sessions really helped me digest everything too. The Bible-study format of our meetings helped me surpass a surface-level understanding of biblical marriage truths, God's order, etc. etc. Once-stuffy traditions are such a joy when their Word-based foundations are understood. Eh, anyway. My point is: Beau's rad. =)
