Today I successfully completed not one, but TWO interviews within a two hours of each other. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. So much work needs doing, and I'm sitting here like an oaf, blogging and praying for mental stamina. Hm. I really don't mean to sound ungrateful. Two interviews are infinitely better/more encouraging than none. I'm just tired.

I should know in a week or so. More news later.

Last Tuesday, I started to panic about the job thing and emailed my Hickory Park supervisor. Sure, she said, there will be at least a part-time gig for me there. Phew! Then she asked me to hand in my weekly availability ... where I hesitated out of fear of commitment.

Yesterday, I got my FIRST call-back (well, email-back, technically) for one of my ten applications. My favorite one, too! I was shrieking and jumping, and even ran in on Beau, who was perched on the john. He took it gracefully like the gentleman that he is. The email said either Friday or next Friday would work for an interview, I said either would work, but 5:00 rolled around before I could get a confirmation back.

So today I went to work ready for anything. Suit-y clothes, portfolio, extra resume copies, etc. etc. Checking my week's worth of email, I noticed a strange one: an Outlook invitation for an interview (a DIFFERENT interview) at Meredith. Scheduled for this afternoon. I immediately thanked the Lord I was ready with clothes and materials. Wow, what a miracle -- especially on what would ordinarily be a Casual Friday. I confidently confirmed.

Finally, I received word from the first interviewing place. They said today would be the only available slot for the next two or three weeks. So I had to pull a couple strings, but I eventually made it to their Urbandale offices for about 45 minutes, came back to work, reassembled myself, and went to my second interview.

Seriously, weeks of nothing boiling down to 3 hours of interviewing? Yuck. The first office didn't even have their AC working. I was a sweaty mess, thanks to the 85-degree weather.

Wow, sorry this was long. Big days merit that, I suppose.
