Canada holidays! part 2/6

Jun 27, 2010 19:54

the second part of our trip lead us to ottawa, the capital of canada, everybody asked us what we gonna do there? and yes... it's not the biggest city over there, neither the most popular but it has some attractions. let's say it's the canadian-cultural spot of the trip. we visited the civilization museum and the national gallery, two MUST visit places if you want to get a clue about the origin of this country, the first one because it has a great collection of aboriginal art [specially totems and masks] and explains the whole history of the country, it gives a perfect global view of their culture and it's super-fun! and the second one is like any other big art museum from a different country, that means that is a huge compilation of art from all different times [with special attention to canadian artists]. in our case we specially enjoyed the contemporary area and the temporary exhibitions [also the store! haha]. we also walked around the river, the parliament and some parks, it was perfect for a couple of days. Over there we slept in two different places, hosted by friendly people, we share a nice time and talks, the people we meet there was like the city itself, polite and full stories to share.
