Summary: Mino feels abandoned when Jinwoo left YG Entertainment almost four years ago without a clear explanation. And now that Jinwoo's back as part of a new duo group, Mino doesn't want to share the same stage with a traitor.

Chapter Three
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
Mino couldn't believe what he just heard. Jinwoo didn't leave Winner on his own will. Jinwoo didn't choose his dream over Winner, over him.
Jinwoo didn't want to leave Mino. But the rapper lived for four years believing otherwise. He believed in that bullshit for four fucking years.
However, what Mino couldn't understand was why Yang Hyunsuk terminated Jinwoo's contract.
"Hyung, you know that Yang-sajangnim is not really fond of Jinwoo-hyung, right?" Taehyun began.
That's it? Just because he wasn't fond of Jinwoo-hyung, he terminated his contract?
"Remember that Seungri-hyung got involved with another sex scandal that year, too. That scandal four years ago got out of sajangnim's hand. It seemed like it was sajangnim's sort of reprimand against Seungri-hyung for all the scandals and issues he brought to the agency. And you know how Seungri-hyung cares about Jinwoo-hyung. Yang-sajangnim hit two birds with one stone. He used the sex tape scandal to get rid of Jinwoo-hyung in the company, at the same time the attention was diverted to Jinwoo-hyung and eventually, Sungjoo-yah. But I think Jinwoo-hyung has an idea that the company would let him go during those times," Seunghoon said.
How could their CEO be this mean? Mino thought.
But I think Jinwoo-hyung has an idea that the company would let him go during those times. Seunghoon's voice echoed in Mino's mind. Then he was drifted away to the past, four years ago.
"Mino-yah," Jinwoo said as he was hugging Mino from the back. Mino was in charge of washing the dishes that day. While the other boys were in the living room, Jinwoo decided to stay and accompany him in the kitchen.
"Hmmmm?" Mino was getting annoyed with the plate he was washing. "Who ate on this plate? Did he glue the dirt on this?"
He heard Jinwoo laugh.
"Mino-yah~" Jinwoo called his name again, in a very cute way.
"I'm listening, Jinu-sang~" Mino replied with aegyo. Jinwoo giggled.
"Would you support me in everything I will do or want to do in the future?" he asked him quietly.
Mino stopped rubbing the plate and tried to look at his back.
"Of course I will," Mino replied sweetly.
"What if I want to write a song? Would you support me?" Jinwoo asked.
"In case you are not aware, we didn't have sex last night because you were very stubborn to finish the song you want to include in our next album. And maybe you also forgot that you threatened me that you won't allow me to, what was your term? Oh, wallbang you, if I don't help with the rap lyrics," Mino teased his boyfriend. The rapper cried 'ouch' when Jinwoo pinched his stomach.
"What if I want to rap, would you support me?" the vocalist asked again.
"I will let you have my parts in our next album if I have to," Mino started scrubbing the plate again.
"What if I want to replace you as Winner's rapper?" Jinwoo told him.
"As long as I sing the high notes, yes, you can have my position as the rapper," Mino answered.
Then Jinwoo paused. Mino waited as he was still scrubbing the dirt off the plate.
"Mino-yah, what if I want to do those things… in a different company… in a new agency… w-would y-you still support me and my dreams?" Mino felt Jinwoo's hug tightened.
Mino stopped what he was doing and faced his Jinwoo-hyung.
"Jinwoo-hyung, YG Entertainment is our home. We are family here. And leaving the company? That's a no-no. Yang-sajangnim gave us our big break. Can we be thankful by not leaving the company just yet? But I will support you in every decision you will make," Mino put some bubbles on Jinwoo's nose.
Two weeks after that conversation, Jinwoo told Mino that he will leave YG Entertainment.
"Are you crazy, Jinwoo-hyung? You worked hard for this! And now you are telling me this shit that you want to leave the company? You want to leave us? You want to leave me?" Mino tried to be calm. Jinwoo was crying in his room after trying to explain to him his decision to leave the agency.
"I will never leave you. You are my life, Mino-yah. But please try to understand-"
"I am trying! I swear I'm trying really hard here. Even if it's difficult. I want to understand you because I love you! But your reasons are selfish! We are still a new group! Your time to compose and produce songs will come! You are the most patient among us, hyung! You will have your turn!" Mino almost yelled at Jinwoo.
However, Jinwoo was really determined. He just shook his head.
"I won't have those opportunities here. I will never-"
"Fuck, Jinwoo-hyung! Are you this selfish?! Okay, if you leave this agency and find a company that will grant your childish demands, what will happen to us? What will happen to Winner? Think of us, hyung! Think of me! I've waited for this all my life!" the rapper couldn't control his anger now.
"Mino-yah, you said you will support me-"
"Don't give me that bullshit, Kim Jinwoo! Yes, I will support you in everything but can't you see why I am against this? You have four other dreamers in your group, hyung! You will shatter our dreams because of your selfishness!" Mino emphasized.
But Jinwoo just cried.
His hyung tried to reason out his decision to leave the agency but Mino couldn't understand him. Then Jinwoo gave up on explaining his side. Mino thought everything was okay. After two days of not talking to each other, Jinwoo knocked on his door, grabbed him by his shirt, kissed him passionately, and told him...
"Hold me, Mino-yah, like the way we first did this in Japan. And I will be yours like I've never been yours before."
That night, they made love like it was the last time...
...because it was indeed the last time...
Jinwoo made his official announcement that he will leave the agency through a lawyer the following day.
Jinwoo was no longer staying in their dorm.
Jinwoo was no longer joining their practice.
Then Jinwoo left their dorm for good. Kneeling, the mat hyung bowed at them, thanking them for the opportunity and wished them the best of luck.
Taehyun and Seunghoon wept quietly while Seungyoon stormed to the room he once shared with Jinwoo and slammed the door. Mino punched the wall of their living room. It startled Taehyun and Seunghoon but Jinwoo just flinched. The vocalist stood up, he wasn't crying though he said "I'm really sorry" with a very shaky voice.
Jinwoo opened the dorm's room and did his last bow. Mino closed his eyes and let his mind flood him with his last memory of Jinwoo: Jinwoo's back, stepping out of their dorm and closing the door.
As the door closed, Mino knew the book of friendship and love he and Jinwoo were writing has come to an end. Jinwoo had put down the pen and closed their book for good as well.
Two days after Jinwoo left, Sungjoo got the spotlight as he also announced his departure from the agency.
A week after that, Mino snapped.
He began cursing Jinwoo. Blaming Jinwoo for everything that happened. Winner's comeback was postponed so as working on their album.
He was very angry. Mino listened to his Tablo-hyung's version of Eyes, Nose, Lips, twenty-four hours a day since Jinwoo left. It was on repeat. It was his song. Mino was really mad that the rapper vented out his anger on his Twitter account. He was the master of wordplay after all.
"1004, fuck I hate those numbers."
"Before I said I hate ants? Well looks like I love them now. At least they are not selfish unlike some deer." (Some EXO fans reacted though.)
And Seunghoon found out about how Mino dissed Jinwoo on his Twitter account.
Mino could tell that his Seunghoon-hyung was dying to punch him. The older rapper's fist would surely hit his face if Seungyoon wasn't stopping Seunghoon. Taehyun's breathing was telling Mino that he wanted to do the same thing, too. But he glared at them.
"You say you lost a teammate, a friend, a brother," Mino said. His voice was shaking badly. "But I didn't only lose a teammate, a friend, a brother. I lost a boyfriend. I lost my life. I lost my everything. He took away my dream! Jinwoo-hyung took away our dreams with him!"
"Your dream is more important than Jinwoo-hyung?" Seunghoon asked him disbelievingly.
Mino smirked. "Did you ask your favorite hyung if his dream was more important than us before he decided to leave Winner?"
"Song Minho!" It was Taehyun. Mino knew that the maknae's patience would snap anytime now but he didn't care. He stopped caring when Jinwoo walked away, out of their dorm, out of their lives.
"Why do I feel like I am the villain here? Did you read the articles? Well, let me read them for you," Mino grabbed his phone on the sofa and opened his Twitter account. He looked at one of the articles about Jinwoo. It didn't take him a minute or so because different articles were all over the social networking sites.
"Kim Jinwoo leaves Winner; YG releases statement, confirming Jinwoo leaving the company; Kim Jinwoo leaves YG, Winner's status still unknown. We should be thankful that the company didn't file a lawsuit against him and just terminated his contract-" Mino wasn't able to continue what he was saying because Seunghoon's fist landed on his cheek.
"I swear to God, you will regret everything you are saying, Song Minho! I swear!" Seunghoon pointed at him as Seungyoon hugged the choreographer and dragged him away from Mino.
Mino wiped his lips with his back palm. Blood. Seungyoon and Taehyun looked at him worriedly. Seunghoon seemed to regain his composure and realized what he did.
"Mino-yah, I'm sorry-"
But Mino shook his head. "It's okay, hyung. Thank you for punching me." The younger rapper gave a fake laugh.
"I wish I was having a nightmare. But since there is this blood, I guess, this is all happening for real."
"Mino-yah…"
No one talked for about two minutes. Seungyoon let go of a calmer Seunghoon.
"Jinwoo-hyung… he… Jinwoo-hyung really left the group… he really… did…" Mino mumbled.
All of them looked at him sadly. Mino looked at them too, hoping that they would burst into laughter and his Jinwoo-hyung would come out of nowhere. Then Jinwoo would give him a hug and apologize to him for ganging up with Seunghoon, Seungyoon, and Taehyun on their prank against him. Then Mino would pout but Jinwoo would kiss his cheek and smile at him.
But none of those happened. His throat began to ache more, no matter how many times he gulped. It was getting harder to breathe.
Then just like that, Mino's tears betrayed him. The tears he was holding back ever since Jinwoo told him that he will leave YG Entertainment started to fall.
Kneeling, Mino sobbed harder, ignoring the tears coming from his eyes and the blood from his lips because of Seunghoon's punch.
"Come back to us, Jinwoo-hyung… come back to me…" he pleaded between his sobbing.
Mino never thought Jinwoo would betray him. Anyone but Jinwoo... his Jinwoo.
Mino returned to the present when he heard Seunghoon said, "I was with him when sajangnim told Jinwoo-hyung that his contract had been terminated. Hyung just cried, not saying the reason."
"Then I overheard Jinwoo-hyung and Seunghoon-hyung talking about it." It was Taehyun.
"Is this why you suddenly changed your opinion towards Jinwoo-hyung? You were on my side when Jinwoo-hyung said he was planning to leave YGE," Mino asked Taehyun, emotionless.
Taehyun nodded.
"I was angry at Jinwoo-hyung, too. I thought I knew everything about him. I felt much betrayed, just like you. I am his roommate, his leader, and he left the group just like that," Seungyoon started.
"But," the leader continued. "When Sungjoo-yah left the company, two days after Jinwoo-hyung, I became suspicious. If there was something those two share in common, it was perseverance, hard work, and never giving up. But they both gave up. It was very out of their characters. Then I noticed that Taehyunie was siding on Jinwoo-hyung. So I investigated and found out everything."
"Mino-yah, I really thought you would do the same like Seungyoonie, to be honest. I was very disappointed," Seunghoon revealed.
Of course, he didn't. Mino thought.
Because I am stupid.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Mino asked, almost whispering. He didn't have the strength to be angry at them. He was still shocked because of the revelation.
The trio looked at each other before Seungyoon spoke.
"Jinwoo-hyung made us swore to his life that we won't tell you. He begged to us," the leader said.
"He knew that you just had the opportunity you've always wanted. Jinwoo-hyung wanted you to go on and be the artist you want to be. When Taehyun and I planned to talk to sajangnim about our contracts too, he stopped us and told us to think of you and Seungyoon-ah," Seunghoon shared.
"He panicked when he learned that Seungyoon-hyung found out the real situation. He felt guilty for leaving us, even if it was against his will. He begged us not to give up. He already felt responsible over Sungjoo-yah's career," Taehyun said.
"Sungjoo... did he tell Sungjoo-yah that his contract was terminated?" Mino asked.
"No. But Sungjoo-yah didn't believe that Jinwoo-hyung will leave us and the agency all of a sudden. Sungjoo-yah investigated and found out the truth. No matter how Jinwoo-hyung begged him to stay in the agency, Sungjoo-yah ignored Jinwoo-hyung's plea and immediately left the company with him," Seungyoon said. Mino could tell that the three guys were giving him a look.
They were telling him that he should have done the same. He should have at least been suspicious. He should have known that something wasn't right because Mino should have known how Jinwoo's mind worked.
But apparently, the rapper didn't. Mino was blinded by his belief that Jinwoo was selfish.
Jinwoo would never be selfish, Mino should have known that.
"So you just let me hate him for almost four years? I hated Jinwoo-hyung because I thought he betrayed us. You just let me hate the person I really love?" Mino asked them, now, his voice was a little firmer. This was the real betrayal.
"It was part of Jinwoo-hyung's plan, Mino-yah," Seunghoon replied cautiously.
Mino looked at his fellow rapper in disbelief.
"There... there was a game plan. Alright," Mino said sarcastically.
"Jinwoo-hyung said he'd rather leave the agency, with you and some of our fans, hating on him for being selfish than leave the agency with us and our unknown future," Seungyoon explained.
"We would fucking survive! As long as we are together, we will survive outside YG Entertainment! You all know that!" Mino said helplessly.
Taehyun stared at him. "Mino-hyung, you were working with Seunghyun-hyung that time for his solo album. You were working with some of well-known rappers that time. Would you give up that project if you found out what our great boss had done to Jinwoo-hyung?"
"How would I know? You never gave me the chance to choose," Mino said coldly then he walked out.
As he stepped out of their hotel room, Mino heard two guys laughing.
Jinwoo and Sungjoo's room was just across their room.
It seemed like the duo didn't notice Mino.
"…You will do all the household chores!" Jinwoo said as he almost put his bag upside down, looking for something.
"But you cheated!" Sungjoo said as he put a takoyaki in his mouth.
"You will sleep on the couch if you will not do the chores," Jinwoo was still looking for something in his bag. In Mino's opinion, he was looking for the room key.
"Who are you to tell me that? My wife?" Sungjoo giggled.
Kim Sungjoo: Jinwoo's best friend. Just like how Pyo Jihoon was to Mino. However, for unknown reasons, Mino was always jealous of Sungjoo.
Of course, he never told Jinwoo that. It would make Jinwoo sad that his then-boyfriend and his best friend were not in good terms.
The rapper just did the best he could to be civil whenever he was with Sungjoo.
And he believed that Sungjoo was just being civil to him too.
Not that they didn't like each other but they both knew there was a competition going on between them.
Whether Sungjoo's feeling for Jinwoo was more than a friend or not, Mino would always be jealous of Sungjoo.
Sungjoo knew Jinwoo better.
Sungjoo would do anything for Jinwoo.
Anything, and it included throwing away his career for Jinwoo.
But Sungjoo-yah didn't believe that Jinwoo-hyung will leave us and the agency all of a sudden… No matter how Jinwoo-hyung begged him to stay in the agency, Sungjoo-yah ignored Jinwoo-hyung's plea and immediately left the company with him.
Sungjoo, at that time, was about to start a drama. Would Mino do the same for Jinwoo?
Mino was surprised when Sungjoo looked at him. Suddenly, Sungjoo gave Jinwoo a back hug.
"Jinwoo-hyung, I'll do all the household chores if you let me watch horror films," Sungjoo spoke, louder than before, making sure that Mino could hear him.
The still-struggling-to-find-the-room-key Jinwoo snorted.
"Then you will snuggle on my bed because you're scared," Jinwoo commented.
"You don't have a choice! We share the same room. Why don't we share the same bed, too?" Sungjoo told the older guy. Mino knew Jinwoo's best friend was making sure every word he said was heard by the rapper.
"Yes! Found it!" Jinwoo said excitedly. Then he opened the door with the key, and entered the room.
Looking at Mino, Sungjoo shouted, "Can I sleep beside you tonight, Jinwoo-hyung?"
"Wow! Did you just ask my permission? Like I could stop you!" Jinwoo yelled back from the room.
Mino felt like dying. For almost four years, he hated Jinwoo for the wrong reason.
Mino spent those years loathing Jinwoo when he shouldn't be. That should have been him, the one who was with Jinwoo, the one who comforted him for being a victim of Yang Hyunsuk's favoritism and unfairness. Not Sungjoo.
The rapper just glared at Sungjoo as the younger one continued to shove to his face what he missed for four years with a smirk.
That Sungjoo and Jinwoo were now inseparable.
It should have been him and Jinwoo but Mino shut his world for Jinwoo while Sungjoo built his world around the mat hyung.
It was Sungjoo. It was Sungjoo who stood by Jinwoo when Jinwoo needed Mino the most.

Jinwoo felt tired: physically and emotionally.
The pre-recording was a torture that he and Sungjoo had to endure. They were with his former band mates. It wasn't awkward, except the occasional death glare from Mino which Jinwoo completely understood. He deserved every glare, every fuck you that Mino's eyes were screaming at him.
It wouldn't be awkward if the newly-debuted duo wasn't asked anything about YG Entertainment.
Why did you leave the company?
"We need to step out of our comfort zone," Sungjoo answered for both of them.
Fuck you and your comfort zones. Mino's eyes replied to them when Jinwoo looked at his former group.
How does it feel to be in this show with your former labelmates?
"We've never lost contact with them. We keep in touch," Jinwoo replied.
Winner's ex-vocalist heard Mino chuckle and it was in a very sarcastic way.
Jinwoo was still in touch with his dongsaengs, well, except with Mino.
If you were still in Winner, would you approved of Mino-san dating Mirei-san, Jinwoo-san?
Not that question, please. Jinwoo begged inside his mind.
"Of course," he heard himself answer. Jinwoo looked at Mino after answering. He knew what Mino's glare told him.
I won't even date Mirei if you were still in Winner, Kim Jinwoo.
"Mirei-ssi… she's a lot prettier in person, right?" Jinwoo asked unconsciously to the person beside him who was attacking their takoyaki. They were inside the elevator, going to their room.
Sungjoo looked at him as the elevator stopped on their floor. His best friend was laughing as they stepped out of the lift.
"It's like you're acknowledging that you are pretty in person, Jinwoo-hyung. Don't worry, you're prettier," the younger guy teased him as he looked for their room key in his pocket.
"The room key is in my bag, hold this," Jinwoo handed two bags of snack to Sungjoo.
"Seeing Kiritani Mirei-ssi in person confirmed my four-year-old theory. I am now sure why Mino-hyung dated her," his friend told him. The older guy looked at Sungjoo curiously. UNIQ's ex-member laughed.
"Jinwoo-hyung, she is your female version, I swear!" Sungjoo told him as they stopped in front of their hotel room.
"What are you trying to say? That Mino-yah dated her because she looked like me?" Jinwoo said as he was still looking for the key.
"Wow, Jinwoo-hyung! I cannot believe you got it right the first time! Congrats for not being stupid!" his best friend teased him.
Laughing, he slapped Sungjoo's left arm. "And hey, you lost on that game a while ago. You will do all the household chores!" Jinwoo said as he continued to look for the room's key.
"But you cheated!" Sungjoo said as he put a takoyaki in his mouth. Jinwoo glared at Sungjoo. He would eat all the takoyaki.
"You will sleep on the couch if you will not do the chores," Jinwoo threatened him.
"Who are you to tell me that? My wife?" Sungjoo giggled.
Then suddenly, Sungjoo hugged him from the back.
"Jinwoo-hyung, I'll do all the household chores if you let me watch horror films," the younger guy said. Jinwoo knew he was pouting.
He snorted. "Then you will snuggle on my bed because you're scared."
Of course, he would allow Sungjoo to watch horror movies even though it meant the younger one would sleep beside him, on his bed, and cuddle him because Sungjoo needed his assurance that what he had watched wasn't true.
And Jinwoo would let him do those because he would do anything for his best friend.
Like how Kim Sungjoo would do anything for him, including his decision to leave YG Entertainment and be enlisted with him.
But for the past four years, Jinwoo still wondered if Mino would do the same for him. He still dreamed of Mino, leaving the agency with him, enlisting together, and starting a new career together.
However, Jinwoo didn't want to drag Mino in that kind of mess. Although he wished his ex-boyfriend would have done the same for him like Sungjoo, Jinwoo was relieved that Mino didn't have to endure what he and especially Sungjoo had gone through.
Mino deserved every good thing that happened, was happening and would happen to him. With or without Jinwoo.
"You don't have a choice! We share the same room. Why don't we share the same bed, too?" Sungjoo told the older guy. Jinwoo thought the younger guy's voice was louder than the usual. But he ignored it when he finally felt the key inside his bag.
"Yes! Found it!" Jinwoo said excitedly. He opened the door immediately and entered the room. He wanted to sleep badly.
But Sungjoo stayed outside. Jinwoo was too tired to drag him to the room. Then he heard him talk to him from the outside.
"Can I sleep beside you tonight, Jinwoo-hyung?"
Jinwoo laughed. Sungjoo had developed a habit of just sleeping beside him, with or without the older vocalist's permission.
"Wow! Did you just ask my permission? Like I could stop you!" he answered back, shouting too.

Sungjoo was surprised to see Mino standing in front of Winner's room.
The fact that his former labelmates' room was just across his and Jinwoo's room was already a surprise. Sungjoo wasn't sure if his Jinwoo-hyung knew that his former bandmates were just a hallway away.
That his ex-boyfriend was within his reach.
But Sungjoo won't allow Mino to touch Jinwoo. He won't allow this rapper hurt his best friend again.
It was kind of hard for Sungjoo to accept Mino in his life. He was kicked out of Team A to give way for the rapper.
And Sungjoo thought that he was also kicked out of his best friend's life because of Mino. Everything was because of Mino.
Song Minho was the first person Jinwoo put all his attention to in a romantic way. Sungjoo wasn't used to that.
He may haven't figured out what he really felt for Jinwoo yet: whether his love for the older guy was platonic or romantic, but Sungjoo knew one thing: he needed to protect his best friend at all cost, even if it's against his best friend's greatest love.
Sungjoo knew that Jinwoo never got over Mino. That Jinwoo still loves Mino. But the man that Jinwoo's heart still beats for was a total asshole.
Every glare that Mino threw on Jinwoo, Sungjoo saw it.
He almost punched Mino when the latter hugged and kissed Mirei in front of Jinwoo.
"Mind your own business."
Mino told him to fuck off. In case the rapper didn't know, the younger vocalist would "mind his own business" if Jinwoo wasn't involved at all.
Sungjoo also wanted to punch Jinwoo a while ago for being so obvious that he was jealous.
Speaking of jealous, Sungjoo couldn't believe what he saw in Mino's eyes as the rapper looked at him and Jinwoo.
After all the dagger gazes he gave Jinwoo, how come Mino's eyes were spelling out jealousy?
But Sungjoo found this amusing and an opportunity to get back on Mino.
He gave Jinwoo a back hug. Sungjoo knew his Jinwoo-hyung was surprised.
"Jinwoo-hyung, I'll do all the household chores if you let me watch horror films," Sungjoo said, louder than as usual. He wanted the rapper to hear everything he would say.
Jinwoo snorted. "Then you will snuggle on my bed because you're scared."
Of course, his Jinwoo-hyung knew that he was never a fan of horror movies. Sungjoo hated himself for acting like a kid and had to sleep beside Jinwoo after watching a horror movie. He felt like the creatures in those films would drag him to hell.
Sungjoo had no plans in watching horror films. His plan as of the moment was to torture a certain rapper who was currently looking at him in a very deadly way.
And Sungjoo wouldn't be surprised if he would be lifeless in a while as he said,
"You don't have a choice! We share the same room. Why don't we share the same bed, too?"
If the former UNIQ member could stress how small the dorm he and Jinwoo share, how small their shared room was, and how small the gap between his and Jinwoo's beds was, Sungjoo would have done it.
Their agency's CEO questioned his and Jinwoo's decision when they told him that they wanted to live in that small dorm. B1A4's leader, Jinyoung, felt sorry for them that he offered his group's dorm to them. The other B1A4 members loved the idea.
However, they were still anxious and bearing the YG traitors title that they thought, it was a great way to start anew.
"Yes! Found it!" Jinwoo exclaimed. It seemed like the older vocalist didn't notice Mino's presence as he went inside their room immediately.

Smirking, Sungjoo asked Jinwoo, almost shouting.
"Can I sleep beside you tonight, Jinwoo-hyung?"
Sungjoo thought he let out an evil laugh upon seeing Mino's reaction when Jinwoo answered back, "Wow! Did you just ask my permission? Like I could stop you!"
Mino stared at him angrily. But the smug look on Sungjoo's face won't leave him.

However, as he stopped in front of Mino, Sungjoo couldn't help but tell the rapper, with an equally-glaring look.
"Mind your own business."
Sungjoo turned his back on Mino and closed the door of his and Jinwoo's hotel room, leaving Mino outside.
