[The script is vaguely baroque, not enough to be crabbed, but enough to be elegant. By modern standards, it's pretty feminine.]

A journal? What kind of journal has already been written in? But it's a communal journal, I suppose it's good! I've never seen any matter of thing like it before, and it's definitely interesting. Not as modern as the ( Read more... )

As you seem to have already heard, Prussia claims this place. The legitimacy of the claim is debatable, but he claims it. I don't think many people have taken notice of that, though.

Yes, I have. But I think so as well -- from what I have seen so far, many people do not even know who he is, much less worry about him. People here seem unburdened by the matters of nations...

Some of us them came here to escape exactly that.

Yes, I imagine... For myself, I was escaping another nation in a sense, but for me it is different. Being what I am, though it is more than that. But at this point I don't want to impose on anyone. I just want to help -- my people mostly.

...I hope that you're okay yourself? But don't worry too much about Prussia. Without so many people there really is nothing he can do. And if worse comes to worse, a friend and I have beaten him before.

As well as I can be, I suppose. I've been attempting to help prepare for the storm and avoid catching cold at the same time, but it seems to be a losing proposition.

He seems to be more interested in talking about it than doing it, though I'd be obliged if you didn't tell him I said that.

Oh, I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Ashe. Though Prussia insists on calling me "Queeny."

I see. Weather is always such a hassle, and when it is like this it is good for no one. I hope it passes swiftly, for everyone's sake. But if you need any help, I'll do what I can? I can't standby and watch, even if these are not my people.

But, Miss Ashe, it is a pleasure to meet you. Or write to you, if you will! My name is Toris Laurinaitis, but you may know me as the nation of Lithuania. ...Are you royalty? Prussia wouldn't call you that unless there was a reason...

I understand. I wouldn't wish his wrath on you like that. But I do think you are right.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Lithuania.

I suppose there isn't much point in hiding it now, but I'd been trying to avoid having it generally known. I was the queen of Dalmasca.

Ah! Should I call you Lady Ashe then?

Obviously you have a reason to hide, but...hah, I'm somewhat curious. I won't prod, of course. However, I'm not familiar with this Dalmasca of yours. Is it a new country?

I'd... prefer you didn't, honestly.

Not precisely. Some of us are starting to believe that we somehow come from different worlds.

All right, I won't then. Sorry, for assuming...

Hm? Different worlds? What exactly do you mean?

It's no problem.

I'm... not quite sure myself, honestly. Some of us know we come from different worlds - Jaina and some of the people here she knows, for instance - but I had no idea until I started talking to some of the others and realized we'd never heard of the countries each other was familiar with.

Thank you, Miss Ashe. I never know what to call humans -- so fussy with titles!

Oh, that is kind of logical, but...strange. Though the aliens said that there were other worlds, I just never visited them or really questioned them about them. Different worlds... So you've never heard of Russia, America, China, Estonia, or anyone else? Well, obviously. But this definitely raises all kinds of questions.

Especially since I haven't the faintest idea how I came here from Ivalice without noticing that I was in another world.

Oh! Yes, I don't think I realised either. Soeldei was suppose to just be a boat ride away. I was guessing in the south -- where the only unclaimed land is that isn't frozen -- but I never really paid attention.

And I thought it was somewhere off the coast of Rozarria. I suppose this is what happens when one follows legends.

Perhaps, but every legend is based on a story, and ever story is based on a truth.
