Fourth Sin - [Action/Voice]

Nov 15, 2011 21:10

[It has been some time since Ganondorf has been in the village. After accepting a mission on the second, he merely took his leave the next day without communicating his absence to anyone. He made assurances his steed would be able to survive on his own and that was that. So after twelve long days of combat, he is finally back in the village late in ( Read more... )

[It would be unwise to refuse. With a village as small as this he would eventually find her. So instead of having it boil down to that she will speak to him on her own terms.]

We'll meet when the sunsets. What place would be acceptable? [If it's not a place she likes she will be determined to change it.]

[Well, she's participating. With her powers, it would have been troublesome to try and seek her out on his own.]

Sunset it is. The roof of Building Six. [It's far from the village and it would be difficult to spy on them there. He also believes Midna will find it amicable enough. He assumes her powers would be sufficient for her to easily escape if she wished to do so.]

Then it is agreed. We will meet then. [It gives her plenty of opportunity to make sure she isn't cornered by this man and his magic should he feel the need to try and use it against her.]

So be it. I will see you then. [He will end the conversation there and await their meeting.]

[She'll arrive early, hiding within shadows waiting for Ganondorf's arrival at the agreed meeting place. Honestly she is not comfortable with this, but she doesn't see any benefit from avoiding it.]

[He will arrive soon enough, via the stairs. Fortunately his limp is gone and he is in otherwise decent condition. However he is still wearing the robes. The armor is troublesome for this winter weather. At least until he makes some adjustments.

Now then... where is the imp?]

[When Ganondorf arrives she comes forth from the shadows. If Midna is bothered by the cold she does not show it.]

You're very prompt.

[That is an impressive ability. The secret of the shadows is a technique he needs to practice more.]

Naturally. It was I who called this meeting, after all. [But he sees little reason to waste time on pleasantries, so he will press on.] No doubt you know why I wish to speak with you.

I doubt a little refresher would hurt.

[Very well. He straightens himself a bit and folds his arms.]

The mask I wore forced me to say things I would have not cared to share. I will not bother dismissing them as lies. They were indeed the truth, but there is more to be said on the matter.

[Very well then. He folds his hands behind his back and steps to the side of the building, one foot on the side as he gazes at the ground beneath. It was like being at the top of a tower. He'd always wanted a tower.]

My first confession. What was done to your realm was unfortunate, but I did what I felt necessary. I cannot say why or how, but I was given a great power. One greater than any has ever been given in our world. [He pulls his hand forward, letting the Triforce's mark shimmer.] Only the ruler of the Twili would be able to see my escape through.

[It's not much of an apology. But he's not done yet.]

But Zant was a naive fool. So eager for power that in the end, he did nothing but abuse it. A king who would turn his blade against his own people is not fit to rule. In my haste to escape to my own world, I left yours in the hands of a madman. That I do regret.

[He turns around, his cape sweeping behind him, until he faces her once more.]Tell me, Twilight Princess, if I had made you the same offer of power, would you have ( ... )

[That is a good question. Now she's not so sure she would say yes, however back then - not so long ago - she had despised the creatures of the Light as much him or any of the other twili. She wouldn't have cared what happened to the world she could not reach, as long as her people and their world was left untouched. So she answers truthfully:]

Yes. [Back then she would have, but now she thinks different. The selfless acts of Princess Zelda and Link were enough to change her point of view.]

[He frowns at that. A pity, really. She would have made an excellent ally. He hastily chose Zant because he was a fool, easy to mold and follow the whims of a 'god'.]

Then I was in error. When I found Zant, he was but my first glimpse into your people. He was weak, desperate, and without hope. He seemed the easiest route to achieving my ends. I have always been a proud man, as fitting the Gerudo. We are a people who have have forever toiled to survive. [He shakes his head, a faint smile.] To think I took the easy route, when another option was before me.

Is that all? [She'll have to think all of this over. She cannot blame him for hating the people in his world for she had once felt similar, and he seems sincere about regretting his actions that have harmed her people.]

There is one more thing. An offer, so we might put our past behind us, for as long as we are here. [He narrows his attention on her, straight into the one eye she has exposed.]

The cursed form you now bear was created by power borrowed from me. My power may be diminished here, but it is possible that I can reverse it. [Not immediately, perhaps. There is a bit of Twili magic mixed up in there and that makes it tricky. But given time and research... he could manage it.]
