You took the end out of Weekend

Hello, neglected LJ friends! I should be shoveling. Notice how I am not?

So, I had a really fun weekend and I really should make a post about it. Friday started off with an interview (that I'm really excited about and may go into further detail about but I don't want to jinx it.) So after that, it started to snow a lot, and the lovely starlingthefool came and picked me up from Shaw's and joined me in a food sampling adventure. For christmas my landlord gave out meat and cheese platter thing with such delicacies as "process cheese food with havarti-type flavor" and "cheddar 'chub.'" It proved not quite filling enough, so we went to Pho Dang and got some noodles as well.

...as we went to Essex to watch "Hot Fuzz" and "Golddiggers of 1933" while drinking wine and eating peanut brittle. The roads were pretty awful, so I spent the night cuddling with a big fat orange ball of fuzz named Milo.

Then we got up relatively early so I could be home in time to be productive and clean and do errands. Saturday was the holiday party at Higher Ground, that I definitely wanted to go to, but things weren't looking too good. There was also a game night, that I had said I wasn't going to originally, thinking I had solid plans already. That turned out not to be the case, and several mis-communications and false starts later, I ended up going anyway in order to catch a ride later. Trivial pursuit, Mad-Libs, operation, and catch phrase were all played, and I had a beer and cuddled for a bit.

We got to HG at about 12:30. I hadn't expected it to be packed, but there were less people there than I had expected. They were showing "Bad Santa" on the screen when I first got there, but than that was replaced by an old cartoon that was frankly very disturbing and I could not look away. Drank a few more beers, talked with some people, danced some. Overall it was pretty fun and I was glad I dragged myself out in the coldness.

So, happy holidays to all if I don't post between now and say, March.

dancing, higher ground, general debauchery
