February recap
OK, so I'm usually pretty haphazard about updating my LJ, and I want to be better about that. Interesting, fun, and exciting things sometimes happen that I don't bother writing about, and then I'll go and make a random post about webcomics. A couple posts ago I mentioned that I was looking forward to the Super Bowl party, which was a lot of fun, and then I never said anything further. So, I'm going to slightly recap some notable events of February, under a cut as to not be a sudden inexplicable post whore.
Three weekends ago, super bowl party. I, of course, rooted for the Giants, for three reasons. One, they were the underdogs. Two, they have the more attractive coach (by a lot.) Three, I always try to picture the actual team mascots fighting, and clearly actual giants would be able to kick the asses of dude with revolutionary war era muskets and whatnot. (I actually wish sporting events were decided in a similar manner.)
I made stuffed mushrooms, which turned out reasonably well. Next time I'm going to experiment with different methods of removing the excess moisture from the shrooms, as well as procure a larger quantity thereof. (They ended up being pretty overstuffed as a result of me having a lot of stuffing and not wanting to waste any of it.) But still, I was pretty proud. It's been a long time since I had a car (driving it that night was *mostly* legal) and was able to show up places (relatively on time) with things. It's also been a long time since I had to be careful of my drinking (v. proud of my one beer), but it still balanced out on the positive side. The game, as known to all who care, ended up being more interesting than I expected. But I was still really just there for the food and the company.
