I spent most of Saturday and Sunday flying to Brazil for meetings this week. My learnings thus far:
1. It was 83 degrees when I landed and the airport is not air conditioned. Apparently they see no need for this luxury whilst you stand in line for 25 minutes to hand in your custom's forms.
2. There are BIG signs on the hotel elevators that say, "Please assure the car is in place before entering". YIKES!! So the doors open regularly and people plummet to their deaths because there is no car there? I had scary flashbacks to one of LA Law's most famous episodes.
3. The graffiti here is MUCH more colorful than in the US -- much more "artsy" and fun to look at.
4. They REALLY conserve electricity here -- even the lights in the hotel hallways are motion activated. On the other hand, the water in the shower is 3 times for powerful than in the USA. There was a LOT of water used (even for a short shower), which I find odd.
I bought postcards, so today the adventure will be to see if I can find stamps once I get out of work. :-)
