Sorache
I wanted to put in an update that we have not written because we have been suffering from Sorache, or altitude sickness. There is actually a word for it in Peru and Bolivia. 2% of people can not tolerate high elevation, and apparently that includes both Dave and me. We were ok in Cuzco, but once we were really high at Lake Titicaca (over 12000 feet) and then La Paz, we were suffering from it. It gives you a certain malaise which made us unable to do the journal. We are now en route to Lima, and then a few days at the beach for some R and R. Lake Titicaca and La Paz are the most exotic places we have ever been. Just too damn high. Our friends we were travelling with are still there, and are fine. More later.
