HI livejournal!!!
i know it's been too long- it's just hard sometimes. i've decided to periodically update again... but who knows if it'll last. things are so uncertain...
but i'm generally all right in life- alive, which is nice for me.. :-) here we are, second semester of junior year at westminster, or TENTH semester of college all together. i'm glad to still be in school, because all my old vizhies are out of school and i'm pretty sure i don't know what i'd be doing in life if i were out. i guess i should think about post-graduation plans, right? first i'll deal with now.
NOW:
~ music man- playing oliver hix (the baritone in the barbershop quartet). it's generally all right. having lots of fun- my family and i (in the show of course) have decided that we're the only jewish family in river city, and in the first scene, we're late to temple- so i'm pissed. our family name *was* hixkowitz, but they changed it when we came over on the boat, so now it's hix. my full name is oliver feivel hixkwitz. i'm also the banker of river city. it's generally fun. i'm excited to just BE in a show ever... it'll be nice.
~ school- taking a bunch of classes, dropping one, which is all right, since i can just take it in the fall. "music theatre workshop" (aka acting 4) is generally grand- we have this MASSIVE assignment this semester where we're picking three roles (two standard and one contemporary OR one standard, one contemporary, and one sondheim) and studying then generally and learning all of them. my roles are:
standard: prince dauntless in once upon a mattress
contemporary: horton in seussical
sondheim: charley in merrily we roll along
fun, right? i probably should have picked bill bigelow or something along those lines for the standard, but it's just too high right now. so dauntless it is- and dauntless is nice for me because i can work on my comedic shtuff. yeeeeeah. and the other two are just wonderful and grand. i did "franklin shepard inc." in acting yesterday and it generally went well... some memorization issues, but considering i started memorizing it two days before, i suppose it was an admirable attempt.
i don't know what else is in the "NOW" category. right this moment, i'm listening to RAGS- the world aids day benefit concert that carolee carmello, michal rupert, eden espinosa, lewis cleale, lanie kazan, etc., etc., etc... did back in january (?) and it's just so awful. but i got it a while back and never really sat down and listened to it because i had my wisdom teeth out and generally forgot about it. but i popped it in today and am generally apalled. lisa joachim would also be apalled. :-)
and eden espinosa opts to sing the last note of the title song up a third from where it's written. and she shouldn't. because it's heinous. who hires her?!
also in the "NOW" is that tonight i'm going to see last five years starring none other than a ms. kathryn mary lyles... very excnited about that... should be grand. bringing a small army- you need reinforcements with this kind of thing. ;-) hoping to hear some high belding (terry boyle greenland anyone?)
uuuhhm... voice scholarship auditions next saturday- don't wanna think about it. won't write about it.
i guess since i've been away from my little livejournal for so long i've forgotten the length of a normal entry. lol. this is reeeal long. i guess i'll go. be well, livejournal. and people- do comment if you're reading this, because i have no idea who you are.
ok. bye.
