and it's me again...

since a few people on my flist are hit by this stupid thing called spnanonhaven , I feel the need to address this quickly.

I went over there to check out what they say about my fic, and I think I got lucky, because it wasn't much. There was one review that actually seemed to be okay in the way that the person posting this was talking about ( Read more... )

Thank you for saying this. I just went over there this afternoon and found evil comments about, of all things, my formatting. If it looks good on my screen, I can't tell how it's going to look on your iphone. Also one person deplored what I wrote last year, and hoped this year's wouldn't be as bad. One anonymous commentator felt offended that my story this year was getting so many comments. Did I get anything out of this other than I should probably learn CSS? No. It's like hearing gossip about yourself---you just don't need to know.

exactly, it's useless. just hurting people and that's it. I got one person saying that he never liked any of my fics... well, why don't you just stay away then? I'm not gonna be personably hurt if you don't like my writing... I don't get it. at all... *shakes head*

and lol about the person being angry that you were getting so many comments.... is she mad that she is alone with her opinion? ;P

Yeah, I just had a look, and apparently my writing is boring. Bland. Still trying to decide if I'm going to take that personally (cause, yeah, my writing style certainly isn't spectacular) or be relieved that it's not worse... Whatever.

yeah, I know what you mean. It's still not nice what has been said, but it could have been a lot worse... but you know, we should not feel bad about the one person trashing our stuff but good about all the people who love our fics :)

yep, you're right!! and I have to admit, that I didn't read a single fic yet - too busy - but I'm collecting and making nice to read lists and I can't wait to have the time to read all those :))

I just wanna say u an awesome awesome writer....but there are pple who suck at LIFE!!! if they cant slam someone they arent happy!!!! U just ignore the idjits hun...i will never understand why pple need to be nasty....*le sigh*;/

aww, thank you so much, hon!! i really appreaciate every nice comment I get on my fics (although I'm terribly behind in answering them ;P). and yep, I don't get those people either....

I love and adore big bangs! Gosh, as a fan fic writer myself, I bow down to the person that can commit that much time and energy to produce something for the pure joy of doing it. Being a stay at home mom, I can't commit that much time- but I enjoy the pleasure of browsing through the ones posted. (Loved yours btw)

So it burns me when people that give so much to the fandom get flamed for it. Like you said you were not paid. And it takes a lot of time and effort to write a big bang.

And the other thing I love about big bangs? It appeals to everyone because so much is posted that everyone in fandom will find something they love! Sad to see the wank.

*nods* exactly!! people work so hard on writing their fics, and then some people decide it's a great idea to open a comm where they can anonymeously bash the writers? not cool.

and yes, Big Bang's are amazing!!! the thing I love the most is how many people are working together from all over the world: the writers, the artists, the betas and alphas...
