i cant believe i made these little people. wwwwwhhaaat.
so a couple weeks ago i told esme that when she decides to, she can stay home from school for one day and we would have a fall day.
She chose today to stay home and have fall day. sucky day choice, because it was pouring rain all day long. I thought it was going to clear up, so for the morning we stayed home in our pajamas and just colored pictures and watched pbs. We did have pecan plum pancakes. i made them and they were not in my opinion that great of a turn out but the girls liked them so whatever. Ill try again sometime. I just think i didnt like the plum taste in warm food.
Anyway, I promised in the afternoon, after naps, we would gather up old bread and anything close to being icky and take it to feed the ducks at the lake nearby. We woke up from naps to find that it was still raining like whoa, but they voted against me to still venture out to duckland. So we made hot cocoa, which i put hazelnut flavoring in...soooooo gooooood. canteens of cocoa, raincoats, boots, and then we got in the car and went to meet daddy.
He was insanely annoyed at first, that we planned on taking him to the lake in the pouring rain, but the girls were really excited about it so he came around to the idea. I just happened to have my camera in the pocket of my rain coat so i took some photos. Charles pointed out its very telling about me that I refuse to go out in the summer, when its not raining, when there are other kids to play with, and that we actually went out as a family in the pouring rain and took photos as well. ha. mmm. im not a summer person what can i say.
we had great fun, the ducks hated our food as you can see in the photos. there are like 500 ducks and they normally all flock to you and knock you down if you have food, but i grabbed some bread with garlic on it, perhaps ducks hate garlic i dont know...
anyway we only got 3 ducks to come near us today. maybe because of the rain. but what do ducks do in the rain? go to thier underground hideouts? im so confused.
yes, in the photos alice does not have matching booties on. haha.
we all look like mess but its true to life i suppose.
