With its taunting orange beak in the lead, the silent watcher swooped its head forward, for it had spotted a visitor, and twisted its neck in a forty-five degree arc, with so much vegenance that if observed, one would think it was trying to snap its neck off. All in what seemed to be less than a second and without moving another millimeter, let alone a ruffle of the feather. By the glint in its beads, everybody below would know that it was enthusiastically awaiting the dreadful reunion.
At this time of the year, the trees are lonely for their children have grown old and left their fragile fingertips, thus giving the ground a golden glow of red, orange, and yellow. Against the grey skies in the distance, a lady in a billowing scarlet dress could be seen strolling towards the tree that the watcher is perched upon, brushing the assimilated leaves on the ground to the sides, clearing a trail of green behind her, lifting her barefeet just barely enough to take a step after another.
O' come hither and heal me, you are finally here!
Caught by the gist of wind from the west, her dress danced to the east along with her fervent, unraveling chocolate curls. She brought her hands closer to her bosom, tightly clenching the stem of verdict.
I want to run towards you and meet half-way, just so you don't have to travel the distance all by yourself, but earth has my legs bounded together as one!
Slightly leaning against the winds of west for balance, she continued to stride with flat lips and faintly audible eyes. A step shy of the destination, she froze with a foot behind her. She let a hand loose to brush her curls out of her eyes and fix them behind her ears. To the left and right, she turned her head, carefully scanning the open field for bypassers, as she brought the foot behind her in, thus closing her legs. Assured that all was quiet for privacy, she slowly shifted her eyes, reading his chest.
My heavy arms are wide open, come and wrap yourself around me!
The edges of her lips curled and her nose narrowed as she struggled to regain the courage to finish what she came to do. "I loved you and always will, but cannot let my heart grow black with you. It is with this rose that I decide to relinquish my love for you."
No! We still have the mountain to move. We still have the course of river to change. We still have a whole world to conquer. Only with our hearts together! You can hear me, can't you? I'm trying hard, really hard to break my concrete jaws free. I am trying. trying. trying.
Careful with the rose in one hand, she lifted her heels and lowered her another hand for balance, as she dropped her knees forward onto the ground. With the rose hand, she reached for the dull diamond and slipped it off her third finger. With care, she slid the ring down the stem of the rose and laid the verdict down to rest among the tree's children and blades of mother earth. Planting a foot on the ground, the lady leaned forward and placed her hands on his arms and kissed his newfound, engraved heart that read,

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
The lady was already on her feet with the wind, running with no indication whatsoever of any desire to look back past the streaming scarlet end of her dress, leaving the anguish behind for the silent watcher. Jerking its beak, that seemed to be smirking by pleasure of the scream, back towards the obnoxious clouds, the beast stretched its talons outward and spread its wings far behind, cawing with all the freedom that the pitiful cross didn't have. By lift-off pressure of the feet, the branch shook to and fro as the crow soared out of sight.
