Canada, eh!

I got up *before* the butt crack of dawn this morning in Calgary, Alberta and arrived at DFW Airport in time for lunch today. I was in Calgary for a business trip, visiting the mother ship (headquarters) of the large Canadian natural gas company I work for. I attended a conference that included 2100 company employees, mostly technical staff. It was my first trip to Canada, and I was quite amused at all of the "eh" comments at the end of phrases. Somewhat amusing with all the differences from normal life -- metric system, cold weather in May, oddball TV situation in the hotel room, lots of people with French accents. But they were all quite friendly. I have to say that I didn't meet any rude Canadians. The company arranged flights the evening before and morning after the conference, so unfortunately I did not have a chance to see much of Calgary except for the downtown area right around my hotel. I'd definitely like to go back some time and spend some time checking out the city, Canadian Rockies, Banff, etc. Go Canada!
