(no subject)
I got all excited because one of the computers was free. I got even more excited when I saw that I had a new email. Then I saw that it wasn't from Christian, but from my mom...Then I went on live journal and not only had X not posted anything, but he hadn't replied to seahorse's query of a religious nature. Then I got worried...Then I remembered that he said he was starting work at 8 am on Friday, which apparently is today, and it is notthat time yet in California. Alas. My second to last day in Panama, but my companion/interpreter is sleeping. He went out with the ladies last night in the wee hours. I respectfully declined but can't wait to hear about their adventures. I really just don't speak any Spanish at all. And forget what you may have heard. They don't speak English. Yesterday we went to a national park which is right inside Panama City and saw some nature and beautiful views. There are many beautiful beaches here, but I stupidly managed to sunburn the HELL out of my ears (FIRST TIME EVER, with my thick hair by having my hair pulled back all day) in addition to a few other random and grossly unattractive spots such as around my belly button, some stripes on my feet for instance, so I'm inclined to stay away from equator strength sunshine for the next day and a half. Call me crazy. My biggest adventures have been trying to learn how to use that damn digital camera, running out of batteries, running out of memory just as wewere pulling our boat up to the most pristine beautiful island about the size of three house lots in the states, with one hut on it that one Kuna family lives in on it. Clear blue water and white sand beach and no memory and the manual was back in our room and no stores for the next 24 hours at least. Oh well you'll just have to take my word for it. Not a lot of Americans out here, but a LOT of Brits and Europeans. Anyway , bye for now...
