Cooked my last feast at Oldenfeld.....for a while

Feb 08, 2009 17:27

I was all but done with the Lion's Tourney feast Saturday night when it occurred that it will possibly be 3-4 years before I can cook a feast at "home" again. I suppose I could bitch my into doing one while I'm Baroness, and I won't say that I won't try it at some point, but it may be time for me to move on to a different type of art/service, and let others move up in the kitchen. Of course, we have some wonderful cooks in Oldenfeld, and they all take every chance they can get to prepare feast, but I'm hoping to encourage some others as well. We'll see. I have no doubt that we will continue to eat very well. I do believe that we have the best cooks in the Kingdom. (What? No, I'm not biased. Why do you ask???)

I suppose I would have liked to "go out" with a better effort. Yes, I know. I'm my own worst critic, but there were things I wish had turned out better. Oh well, there was a LOT of food, served all day, and I do believe that there was enough variety to satisfy everyone.

selyrabbit's day board was an ambitious undertaking with a spectacular result. SO much good food. The addition of dishes brought by a few other people made it that much better. Of course, the Chin Family did a wonderfully comforting breakfast for am OMG cold morning in Trimaris. All in all, we spotlighted a great deal of terrific talent this weekend.

Needless to say, TwinkleToes did a marvelous job as Event Steward. He always makes it look so easy.....

For now, I am exceedingly tired, and am going to give myself a day or so down time to re-fuel for the push to get ready for Gulf Wars. Oye! ODTAA.

Must rest now.
