My feet have been hurting so bad...I haven't done a thing all day. I have so many things that I need to get done, but I could barely walk from the living room to the kitchen. I decided to lay down on my bed today and I watched "Sense and Sensibility" on TV. It was a nice relaxing day and I am glad that I did, my feet are starting to feel better. I took the girls to the Holiday fun house at the Elementary school tonight and let them loose while I visited with a new friend of mine. It was nice, I didn't stress myself out by forcing the kids to do everything (crafts) that they had available. They enjoyed it because they did stuff with their friends and mom (me) wasn't controlling everything. I am taking notes from other mothers. Sometimes, it is not worth "Doing it all."
Chuck got a call from the other job that he applied for. This is the company he worked for, for five years and left because they did not give him a raise as he was promised after he got his Bachelor's degree. His old job became available again at the end of Summer and when he was laid off the second time this year, he applied for it just because it was available. The man that was his boss and will be his boss is also the same man that started up this company that he has been getting up and running (earning money on the side). He has been working doing some Network Engineering (Computer geek stuff) for the largest Cardiovascular practice in Jacksonville. It has kept our bills paid for the past three months, but the down fall is that the contract is coming to an end in a few weeks and we do not have benefits. The past two weeks he has been receiving calls for interviews for jobs that he applied for almost three months ago. He has been waiting for the job for the City to call, but hasn't heard. He didn't think much would come of the other job since he knows they do not want to pay the going rate, but to his surprise, they offered him the job, it pays $20k more than he made one year ago. It is a big leap for him. He is now going to be making more than he has ever made. He is on cloud nine and I am so excited for him. He will still be working towards getting this other business going, but now he will be in closer contact with the men that he has been doing everything with. He can make and break his own hours so he has time for the other job. I haven't been this happy in a long time. Benefits, security, husband's happiness, maybe a house in near future of our own? We have really been blessed! God is good!
