Yesterday I made a wonderful trip to Evanston, where I wish I lived. I will confess to sometimes saying I do live there, not just because I live slightly on the border and it's way cooler than where I live, but also because it has less of the "North Shore" stigma.

Wild Oats is a great grocery store! I wish they had one down in the south suburbs ... the closest one to me is in Hinsdale, hmph. For now, I have to settle with Trader Joes, which is a cheaper, albeit, not as expansive substitute. They don't have the fresh, tasty meat market like Wild Oats...

Hehe... mmmmm... meat....

I agree about the meat. Wild Oats or Whole Foods meat is waaaaaay better than Trader Joe's. Whole Foods wins over Wild Oats though because they have Amy's sausages, which are spiced meat heaven. I like Trader Joes, but a lot of their meat or frozen stuff really isn't impressive.

doesn't whole foods = wild oats/aren't they owned by the same parent company? (we only have whole foods down here, but it absolutely rocks *g*)

I love the spice house. The best is walking down Central on a spring day when it's a bit breezy. It makes the street aromatic.
