good news for a change today, my new rheumatologist thinks that I don't have gout (it was a psoriatic arthritis flair that got misdiagnosed most likely) so that is one less med I have to take and she is going to put me on something that is not only approved for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis but is ALSO approved to treat colitis and (AND OMG) was just approved by the FDA for treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa. HOLY SHIT MAN!!! I haven't ever been able to take meds for HS because they are all made from Vitamin A which is contraindicated for someone with pseudotumor cerebri. HOLY GODS!! This is some kind of amazing opportunity of possible wonderfulness. I realize that I won't ever get my old life back and I am trying to be realistic, but damn, the smallest idea that maybe the future is not just a sinkhole of utter misery, that is a nice surprise. (and I just keep thinking how excited my mom would be about this, she would have been so thrilled to hear the smallest bit of hope about all this shit I have had for so many years) So I see the dermatologist on Friday (because he has to be on board for the skin issues) and then hopefully I will be able to start the new stuff in a week or two. The doc said that it takes about twelve weeks to see improvement so hopefully by Spring there will be less pain in my life. And I know there will be side effects of the stuff, but really, damn, at this point I will take whatever relief there is, ya know. Fingers crossed!
and then AND THEN OMG OMG OMG!!! LP will be in Denver in February! OHMYEVERLOVINGGODS I might die of the squee. I hope my ticket shows up in the mail. I have trust issues with the mail.
