Rant of the Day...
Or... Stop Watching Reality TV Now
So I have become addicted to Property Brothers (and anything with Jon and Drew, yum!) and Restaurant:Impossible and Dead Files and most of the stuff on ID channel and Tabitha Takes Over and pretty much anything along these lines. The issue is that sometimes I want to reach into the TV and slap the stupid out of people.
Today's offense was a chick referring to the Christian Hell as Hades. Pissed me right the fuck off. Hades is the ancient Greek afterlife area where you get what you deserve, punishment if you were bad in life (and it is usually poetic justice of one kind or another) and the blessing of forgetfulness if you were good in life (where you are allowed to drink from the River Lethe and continue on to the Elysian Fields). It is NOT a place of eternal punishment only, it is the entirety of Afterlife both pleasant and not so much. It is in no way comparable to the Christian Hell. I mean really, if I referred to the Christian Heaven as Nirvana, you know they'd be all over me with brimstone for getting it wrong how dare I.
Grr.
In Other News, house sale goes apace, looking forward to getting Mom and Chessie and me settled in our smaller and more manageable digs by mid-September, no closing date set but we are gearing up for changes, siblings were out today to start claiming their stuff from outbuildings.
Yay!
So good stuff as well as annoying, the day was mostly satisfactory. Damn phone rings too much and so I can't get my outgoing calls made, sorry KK! I will try again on Sunday.
