Thank you for the suggestions, much appreciated. The F sticks but the M is actually no longer attatched to the laptop, I left it in place and continue using it, I just have to edit carefully to be sure that all the letters I need are in the sentences I write. (I once had a car that had a cruise control button like that, I had to hold it in place to use the cruise control and then leave the button in the cup holder when I wasn't using it so it wouldn't get lost. I never have a machine without some issue or other, ha)
I do own an extra keyboard and all excitedly went to see if it was a USB, but alas no, it is the roundy plug kind. (no, I don't know the technical term for it, why do you ask?) I do know where the discount computer parts store is in Denver so when I go in a few weeks I will check it out for a USB keyboard.
