I am standing in circle with my darling boyo (Yes, my catholic boyo, who went to church Saturday evening while I was getting ready for the Tarot gig I had booked before I found out he was planning to visit attended a Pagan celebration with me, he is a good man, is my boyo) and I almost had a giggle fit because I just figured out why Samhain very often vibes Beltane for me. It is the close of the light half of the year and when Persephone (who prefers that you bring a REAL pomegranate*grin*) returns to her husband in the underworld. It all makes sense to me now.
Bad News: MDB is on his flight home now.
Good News: I am not a wreck and am enjoying a very lovely afterglow.
Overall, a very lovely weekend.
Why is it that I can spend all of breakfast debating politics and religion (traditionally forbidden topics in my repertoire) with my diametric opposite and at the end we are still friends and smiling? Because we are discussing and not attacking. Our viewpoints (Pagan and mostly Democrat VS Catholic and Republican) are not usually a common ground but we manage to find things to agree on and we both know that the other likes to play devil's advocate, so sometimes we will exchange views just for fun. It's the weirdest foreplay, ever.
