Madness from the Sea er, Sky
Some time around 9:30 or 10pm tonight (well, it's after midnight now so last night now, evening of 1/19) I saw the damnedest thing. I was outside smoking and chatting on the phone with the lovely ic789 and saw ...something.
I was looking East. Something much brighter and larger than any falling star I have ever seen, and slower by far, fell straight down out of the sky, all the way to what passes for a horizon line, that is, the building across the street. It was bright white. It was fucking huge. I have no idea what the fuck. No noise that I could hear over the nighttime city sounds and no mushroom clouds blooming, so it had to be a falling star. But godsdamn. that shit was seriously big and bright and shocking.
