Gah... this is what I get for calling home...
Here is the newest news in the famdamily, and Mom hasn't had a chance to enlighten my sisters, so y'all get to hear it here first.
Uncle Dan died of cancer this week. Yeah, Aunt Janice's ex, Becky's dad.
He has been out of the family (Janice being Mom's sister) for a while since they divorced quite a few years ago. But still I am sad for my cousin Becky. Losing a parent sucks a bunch, and this time of year makes it worse I think.
Uncle Dan liked history. He liked to go to the old forts and museums and things. I always liked that about him.
And I am reminded that my own father's birthday is coming up (Christmas Day) and the anniversaries of his and my sister's father's death is also creeping in (Jan. 3). ((yes, both moms husband #1 and husband #2 died the same time of year, just different years. weird, I know))
I need to go find my past Yule cards and see if Becky's address is in there so I can send her a card. *sigh* Poor kid.
