This campaign is taking every bit of time and energy I have. It's taking bits of time and energy I had no idea I had. It's bizarre and awesome and completely exhausting.

Our Christmas tree is still up as a result (bare, but still in the living room)....

Had a lovely Christmas, followed by a fabulous 12 day family vacation, followed by total immersion in the campaign.

HHH, last night, as I cut and pasted email addresses out of a database into a different database:
"Shouldn't someone have already done that?"

Me: "I am someone. Who did you have in mind?"

It's really mindblowingly different than you think (not YOU, jheaton) - probably because most people don't think about how this stuff gets done at all. I know I never thought about it. Every little thing you want to get done, you do yourself. We have two paid staffers in the whole state, at the moment, and they both need all the help they can get. The office is tiny, but on the plus side, it's always super-packed because we have more volunteers than we know what to do with. But still it seems that everyone is always slammed, and if you need anything you do it yourself. And there is SO MUCH minutia. And yet it's riveting, only because I really really care about the big picture....

I am hopelessly behind on everyone's ljs, and it's not getting better until after Feb. 5. I know Lainey has a new boy, and it's going well, last I checked (Yay!). I know QoT has returned, and types between smooches bestowed upon the Dauphin (Yay!), but beyond that, I have no idea. Even when I try to read my flist, my mind goes back to the campaign. I have the problem I never had with any paying job - I get distracted by work when I'm trying to surf the net. And I don't ever surf the net in the middle of working. WEIRD.

Anyway, I love you all. Vote Obama!
