At long, long last

Currently playing: Run from the album "Final Straw" by Snow Patrol
For those of you who I didn't run into online and exclaim at, I am now the incredibly happy owner of a new, speedy-quick computer. This is about the most exciting, amazing thing to happen ever. I am possibly in shock, even after playing around with it constantly for the past few days.

Specifically, I am now the giddy owner of a 15" MacBook Pro, 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB RAM, 256 MB VRAM, and otherwise amazing bit of computing goodness. I may be in quite a lot of debt (comparably), but I at last own something I've always wanted: a top-of-the-line computer (albeit a laptop). It is really quite impossible to overstate my excitement; it is also getting quite late, so I'll trust you to take my word for it.

In related news, thanks to the MacBook Pro's built-in iSight webcam, I had my first video chat with my father (who bought a MacBook Pro a few months ago). It was a fun experience for both of us, and thoroughly ridiculous. I am definitely a fan of the video chat over the phone, that's for sure; iChat doesn't ring at me.

On a completely unrelated note, I got a call today and learned that two of my good friends (for Todd's benefit: Zach and Maren) from high school who were going to get married this summer are now not only not getting married, but are no longer together. This is very strange; they've been together for just about forever (I think they started going out in ninth or tenth grade, and they've been living together since we all graduated from high school). What this mainly means for me is that I don't have to scramble to get across the state in a couple of weeks, and I now need to figure out how to contact one of them, since I'm not sure I have his contact info.

I'm sure that there is a lot more I could put in this post (I've been forgetting to update LiveJournal again), but I think that instead I will call it a night and hit the sheets a little earlier than the past few nights.
