Are there any Japanese Gardens in Seattle besides Kubota and the one at the Arboretum? (both are worth visiting, btw. Kubota's free and huge, but no Koi, while the Arboretum is $5 and small, but has Koi. And a very tame duck.)
The Japanese Garden in Portland kicks the snot out of both of these parks. (We went on a rainy day in early November, and the leaves were turned and littering the ponds... so beautiful!) The one in Vancouver, BC does not kick the snot out of any of these parks, but is interesting. It's a much "harder" version of a Japanese Garden... more concrete than plants.
