So, Feb. 8th will be my 30 day sobriety aniversery. In order to preemptively celebrate, as well as give me even more reasons to keep my happy little self in my house *and* because I'm going back to work very soon, I wanted to get Bashokitty a new friend. He's gotten very used to having me to play with 24/7 and I didn't want him to be too lonely during the long hours I tend to work at the resteraunt. So on Sunday, Toad and I went to the cat shelter to get him a new little sister. (I figured a young girl would be easier to assimilate as it wouldn't be as likely to spark any alpha-male problems)
The shelter consipires against all my weaknesses. Not only is it impossible for me to not sucomb to the cuteness of kitties, they were having a two for one sale. (You don't even want to know how much I've justified this by "but they were on sale....") So now my family has grown. We have Bashokitty pimp daddy extrodinare and his two (yes. I said two.) female little sisters. One is a sold black kitty, the other is a blueish/silver tabby. I have yet to name these little princesses as it takes me forever to name things. (Though I am taking suggestions.)
The black one is a total lovebug. She seriously loves nothing in the world more than to lay in my lap and let me pet her. Baring the petting, she loves nothing more than to lay in my lap and take a nap. She's slept where I slept since I brought her home.
The blueish/silver one LOVES to play. She is a jumper too as I've found her on my kitchen counter a couple of times. I can tell already I'll have to reinvest in a squirt bottle. '
Toad's digicamera suffered an accident while he was working on a school project and got broken so I'm not sure how long it'll be till I get picties up of new kittys.
Today after work, I had all three of them chasing the little bird feather toy that I got. They were funny how they all would track where it was but only the kitty that was closest to it at the time would bat at it. Worked well for me as I was able to give them all equal time with the toys. Basho was a little freeked out at first, but he's slowly but surely warming up to them. The only time I heard him hiss at them today was when the tabby accidently landed on him whilest she was jumping after the feather toy. I'm proud at how quickly he's adapting, though they are not all best friends yet. It'll come with time though.
I went into work today to start cleaning up the joint for the re-open on Friday. It felt very good to get back to doing something on a schedule. I get to go in for a few hours tomorrow and thursday as well - then I'll be back to working full time again. Yay!
Thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes. Your encouragement means alot to me. It's good to know I've got people behind me as I finally start getting my crap in order. You all rock.
