Nah, I'm totally all over Izzie living. I find the character of Izzie much more entertaining than George (partly because he's hardly been in it this season I guess... but mostly 'cause Alex 'n Izzie are my MerDer!).

I just don't think killing off George is necessay. He could move to a new hospital so that he can always come back or visit etc, or even join the Army if that is what they want, he can visit from there too.

I assume that report from Shonda had them killing him off at the end of season 6, but even that seems kinda close. For example, he'll obviously be in season 5 til the end, and then I can't see him leaving at the very start of season 6 if Izzie's health is still up in the air, so give it a couple of weeks at least for that to resolve, then he's gotta actually join and go through basic training (and I have no idea how long that takes in the states, but I'm guessing it's many months...) and then he has to be placed on active duty, then shipped out, then put into the action, then killed. That is ALOT to happen in a few months (which is what a season usually covers)...

Yeah. You have a point timewise. *relieved sigh* As awesome as she is, Shonda couldn't have George skip the basic training. I can see him going as an Army Doctor (McArmy2!) but I'd think that even then he would need training in case he ever saw action.

Yeah, I'm not really up with the inner workings of the American Army but there is no way in hell he could be shipped off without AT LEAST basic training, and even then, once he IS shipped out, he's still not a fully fledged surgeon (still a resident and under supervision etc) so he wouldn't even be put in the field (most likely) until he had finished his residency, he would probably go to an Army hospital on one of the US bases. I suppose they could have him dying in a car accident, or other mishap, but to have him killed in the line of duty would be a bit of a stretch if it happened that soon. But, then again, Shonda doesn't always follow the rules... though it would be nice if she didn't insult our intelligence every now and then too though!!!
