If you knew how far I came
from where I am
to where I used to be
-Tired of Runnin', Akon (Konvicted)

Alex turns off all the lights in his apartment when George comes over. They don't speak. He just answers the door, pulls George inside, and then backs him up against the wall. He pushes the door shut with one foot as he pins George's hands above his head with both hands.

George doesn't fight him but it's still hard for Alex to relax his grip. Their bodies are pressed together but neither can touch or explore.

Alex leans down to lay a kiss--And then George is out of his grip, his hands on Alex's hips with a bruising strength, and they're moving further into the apartment. Closer to a bedroom.

Alex's hands are wandering now. Up into George's hair and back down to his shoulders then the small of his back and finally to the curve of his ass. When he squeezes, George squeezes back, pulling their hips closer together. Two erections grinding through the soft worn out cotton of their jeans.

They bump into the couch and Alex makes a sharp hiss because his thigh took the brunt of the blow.

"Maybe we should turn on a light."

"No."

George is silent and Alex can hear his eyes staring through the darkness. But then George's lips are back on his mouth. His tongue pushing past his own lips, past his teeth, and deep inside.

George has all of the control right now and that's the number one reason why Alex can't turn on the light. Because when the lights off he can pretend like this is some sort of dream. He doesn't have to think about what it means when he unzips George's pants and falls to his knees.

And if later, when they've made it to the bed finally, he's not the one plunging but instead is mewling uncontrollably as George moves on top of him, inside of him. Then he doesn't have to think to hard about it.

Except when they're done and George climbs off of the bed and walks find a towel. And a slither of light from the bathroom illuminates the whole damn room. And Alex can't help to look at the curves and planes of George's body as he walks back to the bed. Can't help but notice the aroused tingle of his worked over muscles.

The reflection of his own conflicted emotions in George's soft features is the second reason Alex keeps the lights off.
