To those unfamiliar with Vampire Diaries (the television show): The show is set in Mystic Falls, Virginia. Katherine is a vampire that turned the show's two main brothers back in 1864. She hasn't been seen in modern time on the show, but from the flashbacks, it's been shown that she has her obsessions (such as the Salvatore brothers) before she grows bored and leaves.
