He is a character in James Joyce's Ulysses, which i started last summer but didn't manage to finish before being swept away by the tide of English degree reading lists.

I always intended to read it before the hundredth anniversary last year ... god knows why? Whatever,

Glad I didn't now. I read Portrait of the Artist about ten years ago and it was fucking boring as shit. What is up with my judgement sometimes.
