Years of aspiration and experimentation, months of intense planning and construction, and a lifetime of ambition and wishful thinking later, they had finally done it. The moving top-hat had gone up, the shelves had been stocked, their first handful of employees had been meticulously hired and trained, and, finally, for better or worse, the doors had been opened.
If the current state of the post-closing shop was anything to go by (nearly empty shelves, overstuffed registers, merchandise scattered and scrambling across the floor), they had certainly erred on the side of better. Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes had had a first day opening that had made the weeks of (very much downplayed, but felt nonetheless) stress leading up to it completely worth it, and while their evening might have been better off spent cleaning up and preparing for another day of madness, celebrations were clearly in order.
Paying clients had been ushered out with promises of the doors opening up bright and early the next day, and the crowd had narrowed to the usual suspects, along with a bottle (or two) of freshly uncapped Firewhiskey.
"Alright, so who wants to be the first to toast to our greatness?" George called out over the combined chatter of their friends and the Nose-Biting Teacup on display that had gone a little haywire and snap-happy throughout the day.
