Title: A CRY FOR UNDERSTANDING Genre: Canon Word Count: 200 Rating: None Disclaimer: None Story summary: A reflection in the wounds of Ennis Del Mar. Feedback: Its what I live for!
poor ennis. i think you're right. he was never able to get away from the holds that death had on him from the very beginning. death owned him more than he owned himself.
miss you george. it's nice seeing you around sometimes. hugs. s.
Poor Ennis :( It's so sad that he had to live his entire life with that memory and wasn't ever able to come to terms with who he was. Beautiful writing, thanks for sharing!
I feel that one single moment in his life damaged him for anything else. It left a scar that couldn't be fully erase. The tragedy of Ennis was that he was never given a chance to have a happy life because of the shook and pain that was thrust on him in his youth...and to have that pain given to you by your own father is even more devastating. He just never was able to overcome or recover from it.
And the truly sad thing about it is that I believe both those statements are very true. At the age of nine he was given a life sentence and from that moment on he carried around something that was dead inside him and he was never able to recover from it.
OMG, George, where did this come from? It's brilliant. The title alone is so perfect b/c, above all, I really do think Ennis was/is so misunderstood. You've managed to convey so well how internal his struggle was and how deeply embedded.
Nine years old - complete break.
Yes - I think his age was important. He hadn't yet reached puberty and he hadn't yet reached the rebellion stage that is so necessary for healthy development, so there really was this complete break there. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and compassion and for expressing it so eloquently.
Believe me Marie - I have no idea where this one-shot came from! LOL. It just came over me all of a sudden and the next thing I knew I was typing it down. It's the quickest one-shot I ever wrote

Yes, our beloved Ennis was deeply haunted. He was such a lost, damaged soul. You help but not feel for him.
Thanks for reading.
