"Five Surprising Numbers Kate Found in Tony's Day Planner"

Sep 25, 2006 23:45

The next-to-last entry in My Five Things Meme! tallisen asked for "Five Surprising Numbers Kate Found in DiNozzo's Day Planner." This is, again, much shorter than the others I did. But, hey, you came in after the deadline! So... you know... be grateful for what you got! ;-D *huggles* On the bright side, you DID technically get six numbers! And I put in the bones of what could be a very cool crossover fic in there... just so you know... ;-D

Also, I figured Day Planner and PDA were the same difference... Hope I wasn't wrong. ;-D

I can't believe I got two done in one day, and neither one of them is the one I set out to write today. *slaps face* teryl_brat42, I swear, I'm working on yours. It will be out in the next couple of days at LATEST. I don't want you to have to rush to read it.

Kate sat forward and pecked at the screen with her stylus. "No... no, no, no!" She slapped the side of the PDA and cried out at the screen went blank. She looked across at Tony's empty desk and looked around for McGee. DiNozzo would probably have the number she needed. She pushed away from her desk and hurried to his seat.

She ignored the men's magazines - the women were clothed, so it was better than Playboy... barely - and fished his PDA out of the mess. She found the phone book using her own stylus and scrolled down.

Cale, Logan

'Probably some lame college buddy,' she thought. She continued to scroll. It would be better if Tony had some kind of order to the numbers. Had no one taught him the alphabet? Some of his entries weren't even in the 'last name first, first name last' style. Like this one...

David Ziva

She'd never heard him mention a Dave or a David. But the last name sounded Middle Eastern. Maybe one of his contacts. She scrolled on, marveling at the lack of organization. D was followed by W, two names that seemed vaguely familiar...

Winchester, D and Winchester, S

She vaguely remembered a John Winchester that had shown up while they were investigating that supposedly-haunted submarine. He and Gibbs had come to blows when Winchester showed up with a shotgun - filled with rock salt, for God's sake - and tried to force his way onto the sub. The whole thing had blown over the next day; whatever was "haunting" the sub had been cleared up and everything was fine. D and S Winchester were probably John's handlers and Tony kept their numbers around in case they had to come get the guy again. Either that or they were two hot girls that had nothing to do with the psycho ghost hunter...

The next name stopped her cold.

Todd, Caitlin

She didn't know why it should give her pause; she had Tony's number on her PDA. Gibbs and McGee's, too. Hell, she even had Abby and Ducky. But the fact that Tony had used Caitlin... it seemed so formal. So respectable. She felt a warm flush and pushed it away as she moved down to the next name... a name she knew quite well.

Williams, Kevin

Kevin was, after all, the man taking her out to dinner that weekend. She slammed the PDA down on the table and shouted, "DiNozzo!!"
