Sigh. When I sent in my Season 4 Sanctuary reviews to Geek Speak, I mentioned the limbo we were in regarding renewal. The editor asked me if I would be willing to do a post-mortem if "Sanctuary for None" did turn out to be a series finale, and I said sure. I kind of hoped I wouldn't have to. Alas, it became more and more clear it would be necessary

Well, now we can just make up our own canon! And no show to contradict us later? Yeah no, it still sucks. But we always have fic!

I don't know what they're doing next. I selfishly hope Fandemonium does some books so I can submit a few novel ideas. Helen in History! Maybe we can see her with some of those historical folks she always talked about!

It's still hard for me to find eloquent words... or words at all, really, to properly describe my feelings concerning the end of "Sanctuary".

Aww, thank you. I agree! It's kind of hard to believe it was only four seasons. It felt so... HUGE.

I'll continue to do my part with the fic! Maybe my own virtual season 5, where Charlotte disappeared after Monsoon because she's setting up a lab in Helen's underground Sanctuary ;D

Yes, that's hard for me to grasp as well!
Maybe it's because it had such an impact on our lives, because we kept it so close to our hearts? I do know this to be true for myself. And I'm sad.

Indeed! I feel like I've been in that Sanctuary for... oh, a decade. It's familiar and comfy. But maybe it's good that we won't have to see the show without our good ol' Sanctuary. ;D

Thanks Geonn for that wonderful memoriam....it is sad to see a show go away that got me interested in TV again (I fucking re-bought cable to watch it lol). And good to see at least from a Canadian standpoint that we can create amazing original programming without having to import American shows all the time.

This was beautiful, Geonn. It will be missed very much by Jonna and me, and I know we'll both miss seeing Amanda in that role very very much. I couldn't believe when I heard it was cancelled...Syfy is such a stupid network. Even a friend of mine on Facebook, an avid Stargate fan who has yet to watch Sanctuary, commiserated with me about the damn network (he WILL watch Sanctuary if I have anything to do with it ;p).

Yes! Force him to watch, and you can do a rewatch with him. I may not have always agreed with what they did (WHY DID ABBY EXIST WHY?!) but it was still an amazing show. So much better than so much else on the air right now. I got a thrill every time it started up. :(

Amanda has been part of the scifi television landscape for 15 years. It's going to be hard not seeing her every week, but hopefully directing will give her more (well-deserved) time with her family.

I kept thinking of the quote Joss Whedon used for the Firefly movie: "We have done the impossible, and that makes us mighty." Sanctuary did four seasons of the impossible. :D
