Oct 24, 2011 14:06

I don't know what Geek Speak plans to do, but the editor is going to be traveling, so no more issues until February. So just that I'll be prepared whatever she decides (and because I think people like reading them) I'm going to keep up with my reviews so they'll be ready in case they're wanted in the first post back ( Read more... )

Re: review length--it's never too long when it's well written. :-)

I really enjoyed the episode.

The only thing that bugged me a bit about was the idea that the UN was some sort of monolithic, effective entity. In my opinion it's closer to what Robin Williams once described as a "traffic cop on Valium." I kind of liked it better when the heavy was the more nebulous LOTUS but I understand why they wanted to use a real world entity.

And I having worked a bit for the UN (totally non-sexy commission report writing stuff), I took special glee in Addison whom I have renamed Francois. I gotta practice the whole Helen Zen thing though instead of wasting time fantasizing about leaping across the table to smack the arrogant, entitled [insert profane noun here].

Thanks again for sharing your review!

I still love Helen, of course I do, and it was a good ep....to a point. Just...this series...it's gotten so strange....chopping and changing direction like they do....

Still, can't wait for next week, oooohhh my.

"It's like Addison threw a water balloon, and the UN is shutting Helen down because her clothes got wet." <-- I was missing the perfect analogy - but this! It felt like this the whole time! (And she's wearing wet clothes SO well, isn't she?^^)
I was waiting for Helen to verbally (I love her kicking ass but I ADORE her way with words, and eyes, and mout... no, I have to stop daydreaming my way back to Monsoon. Sometime soon. Definitely. *cough*) Anyway, waiting for her to verbally kick his ass to Netu or something similar. And though I feel the same about "how come she's the one being blamed?!" I really like the way both sides used this to set up their traps at the same time.
To quote Addison: "You know what I love about really great tactics? They work even when the other guy sees them coming." Seems the best tactic, after all, is to not have them see it coming, hm?^^
