Sam had to be pretty darn confident Peisinoe wouldn’t have harmed Janet right then and there at the intercom, just to let her hear it. I suppose it’s Sam calling Peisinoe on his lack of confidence, or Sam praying like mad that he would be intimidated or thrown off by her confidence. Maybe she even prayed for luck. Either way I just found that little scene particularly powerful and intense.

I am so glad the Nirrti backstory is significant to the current story. I was impressed with it when you first established it and now I’m just giddy.

It was like a baptism. Beautiful.

"Just dandy, Colonel.” Janet would say nothing less. Your dedication to these characters is just beyond anything else I’ve read.

He turned his weapon and pressed it against Janet's chest just over her heart. Symbolic.

It’s a great examination of Sam’s character to put her in a situation so physically restricted and structured, her at one end, Alliance and Janet on the other, and for her to find her voice for impossible words. Playing it cold is more than a gamble. The Alliance would need to know very little of how the Tau’ri military operate, and with all the stories coming from SGC and Atlantis about how their soldiers strategise and conduct missions, resolve conflicts, Sam would really have to get that coldness to make her seem subhuman, and not at all associated with those stories.

Sam is generally perceived as the least likely to employ that kind of tactic, whereas Jack calls bluffs for breakfast. John calls bluffs too, but never with that kind of cold conviction, more blaze aloofness. I could see Daniel being cold, simply because he is overly passionate and sentimental and as alternate timelines tell us, he’s a half-step away from being that cold-hearted and ruthless.

But Sam. She can make painfully hard calls, such as ordering the Hammond to abandon her pilots. It is so interesting to see just what would push Sam into that kind of fearless place. Because an absence of fear makes someone almost inhuman. Fear is a part of being human, and is our most primal response.

I love her shock at coming out from that state and being aware of where she’d gone to. I think that, more than anything else that happened, will haunt her with aggression.

Vala could be a cover hog. First of all, *gigglesnort*. Second of all, I too, don’t believe you can turn back time. You certainly can’t erase time. So whatever that was that happened, wasn’t the reversal of time. Sam did experience those things, and since Teal’c has those memories, all that time exists when it shouldn’t, in Teal’c. I can totally believe that when Teal’c talks about some of his memories, however briefly, that metaphysical forces revive Sam’s memories of things she, supposedly, never did. But she DID experience them.

Anyway, I’m not sure I’m explaining it well, but you wrote this so you must get it. lol!

"Boys and their toys.” Janet’s talking to you, GC.

"If anything happens that you think is above your pay grade, just give yourself a promotion."
"How high can I go?" Erin asked.
"Brigadier General."
"Good to know, ma'am. Sleep well."

LOL!

Aaaaand sexins. Super hot sexins. But this feedback is already over 1200 words so to condense my reaction: Uuhhhnnnn....*orgasmface*

Well, Sam knew that he wouldn't throw away his bargaining chip. Without Janet, he would have nothing to stop the SG teams from rushing in and opening fire randomly. But still, a huge gamble on Sam's part.

~laughs~ Thank you kindly.

~blush~ Thank you. I'm so protective of them! I feel like I created them myself sometimes. Which is weird. And I know I didn't! ~eyes the beasts of lawyers and copyright~ ;-D

RIGHT! See, I believe that they did rewind it to a point. But there would be leftovers. You don't just live sixty years in a body and then throw it in reverse. There has to be some lingering after effects. There's even a hint at the fact they retained something in the final scene of the episode, when they're going through the old cliches. :D

Go with what works! ;-D

Awwww. You can elaborate in your modest-by-comparison 900 word response to this response. ~g~
