Kamek was surrounded in utter darkness. But the old Magickoopa wasn't afraid of the dark.. Only children were afraid of the such stupid things. This had to be another prank.
"All right you brats, joke's over! I demand you cut it out this instance!" he yelled into the darkness, but there was no response. "Kids? Troops?" The only sounds were his echoes. Kamek started to grow uncertain as the air grew disturbingly cold. "Anyone?"
Far from where the wizard was standing was.....baby Bowser? Or was it Junior? Kamek couldn't tell. "Your Highness! What are you doing here?" He made his way to the scared prince.
"I-I don't know!" Just help me find a way out of here!" His voice trembled underneath stubborn tone. Bowser was almost never this scared of anything, and it made Kamek uncomfortable. He'd rather deal with a mean, rotten royal Koopaling than frightened one.
Just then black tendrils emerged from the darkness behind the young Koopaling. Before Kamek could warn him, they already had enveloped him and began pulling the prince into the darkness. "What the heck is--Kamek!"
The magikoopa panicked. "Y-your Highness! Hold on, I'm coming!" He then realized the broom wasn't carried with him, so he went running as fast as his body could take him. Maybe if he could just teleport....
Nothing happened. Kamek concentrated as best as he could, but he couldn't get the power to work. What was going on?
"Kameeeek!"
He growled under his breath. "I'll be right there, don't worry!" Kamek tried utilizing his sceptor to at least ward the tendrils away but again, it was reduced to a worthless piece of junk. Kamek threw it away in frustration and kept running.
"I got you!" He managed to grab the prince's hands and pull, but the monstrosity was too strong, and hauled Bowser deeper and deeper into the ground. Kamek cursed his lack of physical strength but held on tight nonetheless.
"Let go of him!" He yelled, but Bowser was slowly devoured until he was gone. Kamek fell on his back.
"No no no no NO!" He clawed, scratched, and dug into the ground. He didn't care how much pain it caused him, he was getting Bowser out if it killed him.
"Sir!" A yell came from behind.
Troops-Koopas, Shyguys, Goombas, everyone-were lying on the ground beaten and battered, and each one was being pulled into the ground. "Sir Kamek, help us!"
Kamek was at a loss at what to do. He desperately needed to get Bowser out, but the troops needed him too. Without his powers, he was especially worthless.
This couldn't be happening to him.
Rather than fret helplessly, he ran to the closest soldier and tried to help him out, but it was hopeless. He ran to the next, and the next, but the result was the same. Then he reached General Guy. A once proud soldier now laying motionless on the ground.
"General, get up! I can't do this alone!"
Gone.
Kamek was the only one left in the darkness, every one of his men, and Bowser, gone. And he couldn't do a single damn thing about it. Without his magic, he was as weak as any regular grunt in the army. And at his advanced age, Kamek was completely useless, worthless, pathetic, an overall waste of life why couldn't it have taken HIM instead his Bowser is gone and there isn't anything he can do about it why why why why?!?
"I always knew were good for nothing, windbag."
"What?"
It was Lord Bowser, but he was different. Behind him were Lemmy, Larry, Wendy, Iggy, Morton, Roy, and Ludwig, but they were different, each looking at him soullessly as if each life and personality were sucked out of them. This is wrong, they shouldn't look like that why can't they torment him instead this is too much this is all his fault.
"Putting YOU in charge was the biggest mistake ever made, Kamek. And now look at what's happened."
Kamek clenched his fists hard enough to feel his claws digging into the palm of his hand. "L-lord Bowser....I tried...."
"Get out of my face, you old buffoon. If I ever catch you in my kingdom again I'll .....
