I felt the weirdness luzvimindalulu May 18 2006, 02:28:12 UTC
I remember iM visiting Pullman/WSU for FASA events and conferences. It is weird moving to Seattle with memories of 5 years back. I remember poems... with "Ikalitpuna, pass it around" and "Isangmahal... one love." I remember I WAS BORN WITH TWO TONGUES (from Chicago) performing with iM. I remember asking around... asking what happened. I remember meeting you at Wing Luke and asking where that space was. I still wonder what happened. Did people get in the way of themselves? That event felt tense and people were vulnerable again like people were recovering from wounds. It seemed like people wanted it, but were afraid they would be hurt again. I don't know the whole story, but words can heal and move people to action. I still want spaces to create. The youth inspired me. We are grown now supposedly, but got a lot to learn. I think I am going to hang with the Youth and learn for awhile. I just hope people continue to build something so that they have spaces to create and voice their struggles. Poetry is Brown people's therapy... part of the decolonization process. art for art sake, no, because we have to many stories waiting to be told, waiting for someone to say "me too," so we can struggle and fight the sysem together. peace.

that's what i am saying. it was nice, can't wait for the next one ("continue to build"). i am glad iM is back, because ever since I moved to seattle, I wanted to go and hear and listen. it felt good to relate to the struggles mentioned. it was beautiful. who is this by the way?
