vacation, day three
Well, today I spent the day with my sister and stinky nephews.
I was supposed to go over at 11 this morning to watch my youngest nephew while my sister and older nephew went to swim lessons.
Last night this changed to 10AM because my sister sprained her back and needed to go to the chiropractor.
Then this morning, my sister called and asked me to come over at 9AM, because she needed to get the snowblower out and clear out her driveway. After all we got more than a foot and a half of snow.
Well, I wound up clearing much of the snow off the driveway for my sister, and then I had a few blissful minutes before my nephew woke up. Of course he had a toxic diaper that I had to change. (Don't get me wrong or anything, but changing diapers is not one of my favorite things to do.) Luckily the stinky nephew was pretty happy and I kept him quite busy until my sister came back.
Then I came home and took a nap. I've been staying up rather late (as evidenced by the time of this post), and I had more drinks last night than I can handle nowadays. (It's just two gin and tonics and a rather strange mixed drink knows as a Mae West. I have become a such a lightweight when it comes to alcohol.)
Then I had to head back to my sisters, because she and I were going to the symphony. She made reservations at a nice restaurant called Ginger, and then off to the symphony were were supposed to go. Well, after the meal, neither of us were up for music, so we went to the 5th Avenue mall and looked for clothes for the nephews and I wound up finding a pair of shoes at Payless. (Yeah, I'm shocked by that too.)
Then we went to a new coffeehouse where we had some cake and coffee. It was better than listening to Mozart and other stalwarts of classical music played by a second rate orchestra any day of the week.
And now, I'm cleaning up my apartment, updating my journals, updating my address book, and watching a rather mediocre movie called Calendar Girls.
Tomorrow, little chores and the gym...
movies,
daily life,
family
