Well, last night was my first night as the stage manager for ATY's production of Ramona Quimby. We had a cold read with as many of the actors that were available--we were missing four--three of which were main characters.
It went surprisingly well. I passed out the forms, gave the standard dos and don'ts and read through the entire script, getting the cast out of the place at 8PM.
Not bad considering:
1.) I've never stage managed before.
2.) The director wasn't there
3.) Did I mention I'd never done this before.
It's going to be an experience for me, and if everything with the shows go as well as last night, I'm going to have no worries.
Mind you, I just wrote famous last words...
