Mother's Day
Well, I telephoned my mother today, and we talked on the phone for an hour.
Really, as things go, we chatted about the things that are unimportant, such as lawn maintenance, old movies, and all other things that we have in common. Generally talking in circles around thing that really need to be talked about. But that's what we do, hold up our own barriers so that life is as sunny and colorful as a Carmen Miranda musical.
I also helped out with the Goldring Awards with Alaska Theatre of Youth, and I wound up winning a volunteer of the year award. It was wonderful, but they didn't need to do it.
