I was out in the field yesterday, surveying. It wasn’t too cold, and in most spots the snow was almost completely melted - of course there were areas of snow drift up to 2 feet. I ran the rod all day. That wasn’t our intent, it just sort of happened. I said I was tired several times throughout the day, and Chris said we could switch if I wanted, but I am a stubborn psychobitch sometimes and constantly need to prove that I can do things myself even if I shouldn’t… and well, he just wasn’t insistent enough to make me hand over the survey rod.
So I woke up today with a headache that kept me up half the night. Exhausted and with a scratchy throat, and generally no energy whatsoever, I went to the office. They sent me home after I said I wasn’t feeling well. I think they thought I was sick, or that this will “go away.” Honestly, I don’t know if it will go away, and so I think that I shouldn’t take off work just b/c… I’m tired.
Plus, I was bored out of my fucking skull while at home. And I really am tired, though not enough for a nap apparently. Not that I am a napping-type person.
Also, being at home all day, I ate too much and now I feel kinda sick.
New topic: My mom’s 50th birthday is this Sunday, the 12th. My dad is arranging a surprise party (so shhh, don’t tell her) at a restaurant. I’m picking up the cake, and I might get a big bouquet/basket/vase of flowers for her table. It sounds like both my sisters will be here. In fact, I think they’re coming in to town tomorrow. That’s probably something I should keep better tabs on.
I’m thinking of going to bed right now, or in an hour when my stomach settles down.
Why can’t I get into tea? Why does tea taste so gross when it gets cold? Why can’t I just drink coffee and alcohol all day? Water, be damned! Ha, I’m amused.
I finished the Harry Potter books, too, so now I’m doubly bored. People have recommended books to read, but I was so amazed and surprised with how well Rowling wrote and told stories that I’m afraid any other book just won’t impress me the same way.
It’s still cold here. WTF, mate? Ha. Canada Down Under. Ha, I’m amused again. I’ll have to go for a walk tomorrow when it’s 60oF outside. It better be, anyway, or I might cry. I want to start running again soon.
